Miss Winston was the pin-up gal for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco during its 33-year reign as the sponsor of NASCAR’s premier series, the Winston Cup. She is best remembered for the hundreds of Victory Lane kisses she delivered over the years. Her reign lasted from the beginning of NASCAR’s modern era, in 1971, and ended in 2003, when Miss Winston died of lung cancer. There is no Miss Nextel

Not real sure on race or date but this practice ended after Bill "The Hatman"Brodrick(use to give the winner hats in victory lane for each of the sponsors) Left the position.I think he retired from Union 76 Oil.
But soon after his retirement the MISS WINSTON,and 76 Racestoppers ended.
