no you would have to purchase the program or maybe see if someone has a copy they may give you (not legal tho' to do that) But that won't be a free upgrade for a long time

That would be considered theft and software piracy! but if you want to buy a legit copy of say xp pro for around $ 139.00? or a legit Vista home premium for $119.00 then go to the link below... Besides with XP 2002 and above the license key is a one use item and check this out... change a few peices of internal hardware and you license is no longer valid and you will either buy a new one or not be able to use it again... Pesonally I wouldnt use winDOZE to scrape goat droppings off my boot heels.. Why not try a legal and FREE O/s like Linux freespire... you can get it at link#2 below legal and free and more stable too ... no bugs no fixes for sloppy 1/2 done O/s holes and so much better and faster... EnjoY~

You can't do it for free. You need to purchase a licensed copy of windows xp and perform the upgrade. However, if your computer is so old its running 98, you may be better off purchasing a new computer. The hardware on your old one may not be compatible with xp.
