My husband and I have been in a very bizarre mood as of late. We haven't been sleeping very much, but not too little maybe 4 to 6 hours a night. We both feel sort of out of it like the world is distant. We've been both more hyper and happy and feeling more healthy in some ways and then in other ways we simply feel kind of burnt out and tired. He recently quit smoking and we do get drunk on occasion, but nothing out of the ordinary for most people. I usually have anxiety, but it's lifted a lot lately. We have changed our diet and started eating more fruits and veggies, but this feeling is very bizarre. I've felt this way before....I don't know. Could it be the weather?

You both sound a bit spaced out? Do you spend much time with friends and family? If not maybe you should try that. Perhaps trying some volunteering work? It sounds like you are both distant from the world and need to get involved with it.

You state that you've felt this way before......what was the diagnosis then?

Many things can change how a person feels....

Weather, a new employee at work, different routes to work and home, new friends, old friends moving on, changing your diet, changing your sleep patterns, depression, mania......
just about everything in a day to day life, that changes, either good or bad...can affect your mood.

When a person quits smoking, all the transmitters in the brain that crave nicotin go on high alert...yet, you also clear out your brain as well as your body....

Adding more fruits and veggies to your diet and giving up less healthy options is a good thing, congratulations on your decision. Yet, by giving up the bad and moving onto the good, your body could be cleansing itself.....which could also alter how you feel right now.

I would give it a bit of time, if things level out...great, if not...then talk with your family doctor and see if something more serious couldn't be the culprit.

I too, have been dealing with a very strange onset of moods and varied sleep patterns. I am bi-polar, so I blame it on that...maybe I should start seeking other reasons?

I do hope everything ends up wonderful and you both enjoy a happier, healthier life.

Good luck and Congratulations on the good choices!

Just personal opinion mind you. The weather could be a partial factor. I would say it is more to the change in habits. By eating better you are ridding your body of bad things and getting it back to working right. The low times are when your body is in withdrawal mode of the junk that it was use to. Keep at it, you will see even more energy etc. Fast food places are taboo for me. Getting less sleep in my opinion is better. I sleep about 4 hours a night once in awhile I'll do 5-6 hours, anything over that I am so sluggish I can hardly function. Time of day plays a factor also. Each person has their perk time and down time so monitor the times you feel not so with it and see if the time is about the same each time.

Sometimes when the marriage gets too familiar, we kind of 'settle' in, I think...so that's when we have to turn a new page so to think...and the ways of the old have to kinda get put behind..we do live in a weird world right now...so it would be good if you could both find a new hobby that you both loved, bowling, or dancing, or something to fill this new void you are experiencing...just keep that spark going girl...good luck.

You need to get some sleep. You have the classic symptoms of insomnia and you may start hallucinating. Have you not watched the Fight Club movie?
