you haven't "ruined" it but you shouldn't have it in standing water until it is healed. with repeated water exposure you could lose some ink in spots or it could cause overall fading. AND with soaking there is more risk of bacteria and other yuck stuff getting to your tattoo, you have to remember that it is an open wound on your body and you should treat it as such. good luck with your healing!
(definitely no swimming in pools, lakes, rivers or even hot tubs until a month after you got your tattoo!)

No you haven't ruined your tat! The ink is permanent and you merely have soaked your foot. Don't forget that in order to remove a tatoo they have to use laser surgery, so a little water just won't do it. NOW if you scabbed up really bad and picked the scab off before it was COMPLETELY healed, then you could have white spots that are scars and you would have to go back for touch ups.

It should be fine. Just don't soak it anymore. Limit your shower time to like 15 minutes and do not, I repeat, DO NOT keep it covered. It needs to breathe and heve fresh air to heal. I think some people are told to keep in covered and keep it covered with ointment. That is the worst thing that you can do to it. Let it breathe and keep it dry!
