My dog is 13 I give her oil of primrose. Also garlic capsules both are for humans. My mam use to give her dog cod liver oil capsules he was fine on them.I prefer giving my dog human medicine the vets give same stuff & charge you treble.I have a good vet & if you put a search in yahoo you will find plenty of vets tell you to use human tablets or capsules.

I give my greyhound 1 cod liver oil capsule in her food every night,it keeps their coat in great condition and it is good for arthritis,I would ask your vet if it puts your mind at ease, but I know a lot of dog owners believe in it.

Why would you? It can be very upsetting to the dogs digestive system and can give them severe stomach pain and diarrhea, if your dog is constipated take him/her to see the vet or at the very least call and ask their opinion and what is the correct dose IF they agree with giving your dog this treatment.
