When my son's were little I had the same problem, I then read about tee tree shampoo and conditioner, I used to wash their hair every night and comb through the conditioner with the nit comb........bingo, did not see anything after!
Worth a try!
Good luck!

Head lice is a pain the Back - Side. !!! I dont think thats its right that you have to pay for the treatment. It should be free. If you keep treating your childs hair and it keeps coming back. You should go to the head and explain how much money you have spent on treatment and explain that letters should be sent out to parents so they can check and clean there childrens hair. Head lice dosnt mean that you are dirty, as head lice only live in clean hair, and therefore are not a sign or poor hygiene.its best to go to the chemist and see what they decide, as your child might be ellergic to the chemicals in the treatment. Head clear is not a good one to use as it is not strog enough and the head lice will just come back again!!.. Its best to use the treatment with numonia in it as it is strong and it kills the head lice. Do you cover the whole hair when you treat your childs hair, becuase head lice hide and then once the hair is washed they will lay more eggs and it gose on and on again.!, When treating your childs hair make sure you use the nitt comb provided with the treatment (or can be brought in a chemist really cheap) and make sure you get rid of all the eggs in the hair. Blech all your combs and wash after use. Make sure that you change the bed sheets and pillos as they can shill live in here, Clean coasts, hats, as head lice is usally found in this area. if the teacher dosnt do anythink about it then write a letter complaining about the amount of times you have treated your childs hair and then explain that you are taking this further and untill a letter has been sent to parents warning them about head lice then your child will be wearing a hat in class to shop catching headlice. Another thing its also best to check yopur own hair as head lice can jump.. hope my advice is helpful
Good luck xx

Use lice shampoo and comb. Make sure you comb everyday to get rid of all the nits. It'll take a while, but it is necessary. Don't forget to treat your environment too. Wash the bedding and clothes, vacuum the bed and furniture and carpeting. Also just to be on the safe side, take any stuffed animals your son plays or sleeps with and pack in air tight plastic bags for two weeks. This should kill anything that might have gotten on them as well. Good luck!

Wet comb them every day, for two weeks. Use conditioner (cheap value brands are fine), leave it on for a while and then comb, comb, comb, until you can see nothing. And do it for two weeks.
Complain to your school, too. Go to the headmistress. It is up to the school to tell the parents. Suggest a "headlice week" in which no child combs into the school without a note from the parents, saying they have checked.
Headlice are a pain, but I have found this to be the only method that works.
Also, wash bedding at the same time, do your own hair, too.

You need to have your son be seen by the dermatologist. They have special shampoos designed just to kill head lice.
Yes, it is very possible that someone is passing it around school by sharing things like a hairbrush with a classmate. When I was in school parents were warned about head lice every year.

Hedrin is quite good. Use it once and then again after a week. Headlice will die on the first application. Nets take a week to hatch so that is why they say you have to apply it again after a week to kill the rest.
After that, use hair conditioner everytime you wash his hair and comb it to avoid them coming back.
My mum use to make my brother sleep all nite with vinegar on his hair and a plastic bag or cling film round his head. That really kills all living thing in you head.
Hope this helps.

Over the counter products usually work, but when my daughter had them, the comb was how we got rid of them. (along with the shampoo) It was so disgusting, little lice and eggs were pulled out with the comb. It took HOURS

I told the school they were responsible for the treatments after the 3rd infection. There is no way to get rid of them if the school is not screening the other children enough. You need to contact the school administrator and tell them you have paid enough for their errors. Good luck!!!
