I always believe that all religion should teaches the believers good and not bad. However there are some sicko and extremists who manipulate the words of God and turn the innocents away from the actual teaching. These people can speak blasphemy with such power and assurance that the innocent believers are brainwashed. Therefore, to answer your question, religion is not the main root of most problems but extreme/ twisted religion is the root of ALL problem.

People are the ONLY cause of problems on Earth. We have ruined this planet and the sooner mankind gets what is coming to us the better. We don't deserve such a beautiful planet, we squabble over land, religion, skin colour, we pollute the air and sea and we have generally messed everything up. You can't blame religion for the action of mankind.

It is true that man has used religion for political gain. Nazi Germany had "God with us" engraved in German on the belts of Nazi soldiers. America said, "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition." The law may even allow you to start the Christian Nazi Party, if you so desire. You can become a "reverend" for a few dollars through the tabloid classifieds and then further your political agenda with the world’s blessing, no matter how much it smears the name of Christ.
Jesus tells us in John 16:2,3 that there will be some who, in their error, commit atrocities and murder in the name of God: "The time is coming that whosoever kills you will think that he does God service." However, He informs us that these are not true believers: "And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me." (See also 1 John 3:15.)
Jesus told His followers to love their enemies. So if a man puts a knife into someone’s back in the name of Christianity, something obviously isn’t right. If we human beings can detect it, how much more will God? He will deal with it on Judgment Day.
"I know that the Lord is always on the side of right. But it is my constant
anxiety and prayer that I—and this nation—should be on the Lord’s side."
-Abraham Lincoln

My dear Friend you are mistaken to think that religion is root of problems. In fact religion, if truly followed, eradicates problems and sin..No religion teaches to kill..or do any evil act, or a priest does it..It is the dirty minds of dirty & greedy human beings who misuse it for own purpose.. Religion..for example is like mercidese car, everyone will agree that it is a good car.. if the driver [human] bangs the car? who does you blame, the car? or the driver?. you decide it..

Religion is fiction. It is not based on reality. It was created at a time when science did not understand the world. People looked through "purpose colored spectacles," and searched for a creator that reflected their values.
Because of the high place in society that religion has held through the ages, it has also been used to quell dissent in the masses and organize support for war, tyranny, slaughter, and government institutions, including the church and monarchy.

religions are just a out shoot of one persons realization, that others try to follow for them selves. my realizations are for me, and usually don't apply to others, who have there own realizations.
Christians pride them selves in being sheep, with Jesus as the master.the only problem is the Jesus of the bible and the modern adaptation of that name are ---false and the sheep are following a self created myth
find your own path, and you will find the religion for you.
if you cant ,chose the one closes to the universal truths.

No, religion is not the cause of mankind's miseries. Mankind is, our corrupt nature and how given half the chance people use the deeply held beliefs of others for their own gain. That's where the problems lie.

the distinctive greatest atrocities ever committed with the aid of guy have happened in international places that heavily limit or outright ban faith. And earlier you blanket cover each faith, you ought to study what those religions practice. And, in the event that they warfare, what are they struggling with for? yet, to particularly answer your questions, no. faith isn't the main significant rationalization for conflict in the international. the undeniable fact that guy is sinful with the aid of nature, longs for capability, and is particularly prideful is the time-honored rationalization for conflict. What might take place if all people stopped working in the direction of faith? Who is conscious. yet i won't be in a position to think of a international without desire, compassion, love, and the promise of salvation. lifestyles may be particularly pointless. i'm not involved in faith. i'm involved in certainty.
