What causes spots?

I'm 30 years old and have just broken out in spots like I had when I was 17. Why? Am I going through puberty again?

you need to describe your spots better, otherwise I would suggest to see a doctor if these spots persist or worsen, since after seeing they can be managed better versus just desribing them on the internet, good luck
