I cant seem to find a option to change what the flash type is. Also, it seems that I have to put the flash on for EVERY picture?? If anyone has this camera, (DSC-364R) or even some advice, could you maybe shed some light for me?! THANKS!

I have never heard of this brand. Look in the menu for flash compensation, and minus it as far as it will go. Then do a test shot. If it's too dark, add a little back, then test again. Repeat until the exposure looks good to you.

You can also tape a small piece of paper or coffee filter over the flash. This will cut down on the output and soften the harshness by acting as a diffuser.

You may have a dial or menu to choose flash or no flash or red-eye reduction, or maybe even slow-synch flash. Often this is on a thumb wheel dial, and has little lightning bolt icons, one with an eye, and one with a slash through it.
