I have my lip pierced and it hurt like hell. My other friend's who had it done said it didn't hurt at all. It all depends on the person and their lip and the person piercing you. Go with a stud or a barbell at first because it will heal much easier because there is less movement of the jewlery then with a ring. And yes you can swap in a ring with no trouble when it's healed, just make sure you don't leave the hole open to long or it could close. I had my ring out for the first time in a year and it closed in 8 hours and had to repierce it.

absolutely...as long as the ring is the same guage as the stud. although i wouldnt recommend having a stud first, maybe a lebret pin would be best, just until it is healed completely. and yes...its gonna hurt! your having a hollow needle poke through your lip, taking a chunk to allow for the jewelery to fit in, then having the jewelery pushed through. sorry to be so graphic, but this is how it is. hehe...and its pretty cool when you think about it...anyways. enjoy your new piercing and remember to always use diluted mouthwash after eating, drinking and smoking. oral sex is not recommended and dont play with it too much before its finished healing!

A stud will heal extra helpful than a hoop. I fairly much constantly use labret posts for preliminary rings, as rings would desire to be particularly super to handle swelling in a sparkling piercing and are extra in all probability to pass around or get caught on issues. as quickly as the piercing is healed you are able to swap to a hoop in case you like.

This is how it works, they will disinfect the area. The piercer will mark where he will pierce you. He take out his sterile utensils. (make sure they are sterile) He will direct you to take a deep breath and you will hold it for a few seconds. When you do, he will tell you to exhale. This is when they actually do the piercing. If you close your eyes and take a deep breath and you exhale as normally as you can you wont feel much. The pain after is usually worse then the actual piercing being done.

PieRCiNG Advice:
When they are about to put the needle thru - Take a deep breath. Then release after it is thru. Alteast that was what I was told when I had my peircings done & it seemed to help then I wanted to jump for joy! Yes. You can put a ring in after the piercing is healed. Good Luck!
Ciao!
