Lemon and balsamic vinegar give good taste. There is also special brands of salt specially for high blood pressure patients U can use small amount, they are good for all of us actually. Use small amount. Also watch for ingredients of all canned items (they contain high % of sodium - which is really bad)

Morton's makes a "light" salt that also contains potassium. If your sister is on a diuretic as well as something to lower her blood pressure, she stands a risk of losing too much potassium. This helps supplement without the harmful effects of salt useage. I'm a fan of using herbs and things like mustard instead of over salting. Also, add salt at the end of the cooking process, not in the beginning. I also use the pepper blends that you can grind your self. Oh, and stay away from processed meats and foods if you can! Good luck!

Go look on the spice aisle in your grocery store. They have ALOT of different seasonings for people who can't have salt in their diets. Mrs. Dash is the one that has been around for years. There are alot of new ones now.

Use herbs and lemon juice which give a savoury flavour. Your sister sounds a very poorly person - I have just answered your diabetes question too. I wish her well.
