If you believe in sola scriptura please give the verse(s) in the Holy Bible that support the following traditions that most evangelicals accept:
-Christ was born on Dec. 25
-the revelation of Jesus Christ ended with the death of the last Apostle,
-The canon of the Bible was determined by God
-Provide(s) a list of the canonical books of the Old Testament,
-Provide(s) a list of the canonical books of the New Testament,
-Explain(s) the doctrine of the Trinity,
-John is the "beloved disciple",
-Matthew is the author of the first Gospel
-Mark is the author of the second Gospel
-Luke is the author of the third Gospel,
-John is the author of the fouth Gospel ,
-Luke is the author of the Acts of the Apostles
-You need to accept Jesus "as Personal Lord and Saviour" to be saved
-Baptism is for adults only
-The bible is the sole authority

The fact is that Sola Scriptura is a 16th century novelty built on a foundation of sand, since it is not supported by the Bible (see 1 Tim.3:15)

My poimt is not that Christ was born on that date. No one today knows for sure when he was born.
My point is that protestants and evangelicas also follow tradition, but they say their norm is "the bible alone".
Maybe they should say "pride alone", because they believe and repeat all the lies they are told about the Catholic Church.
They accuse the Catholic church of doing something that they do too

1 Tim, 3:15 says that the church is the pillar and foundation of the truth. (not thr bible, although we believe ot id 100% correct, IF interpreted correctly by the Church))

I completely agree with you. I do not agree with Sola Scriptura. I never have. It implies that we cannot be given a revelation from God in the modern times. It implies that we cannot learn anything from a source that isn't scripture. That is nonsense. My pastor isn't the Bible, but I certainly have learned a great deal from him. My father isn't scripture either, but he has taught me large amounts of wisdom. I agree with you. Sola Scriptura is in fact against the scriptures.

You've wrongly defined Sola Scriptura. The doctrine of Sola Scriptura does not imply that we banish all tradition. St. Paul wrote that we should not do so (2 Thessalonians 2:15), and to ignore each and every Christian tradition would be to go against Scripture. At the same time, the traditions of men should never outweigh or nullify God's commandments, just as Jesus stated (Matthew 15:3), yet the Roman Catholic Church has given the Pope the ''authority'' to change Divine Law. It is mostly out of this tradition that the conflict arises, at least for me. I could have almost joined the RCC when I became a Christian, until I was told about this, papal infallibility (which was explained to me as being more or less ''part time''), and a few more things. What Sola Scriptura states is that we are not to govern the Church using anything outside the written Word of God. We are not to make our own judgments. We are to weigh everything out according to Scripture alone. It does not imply that we should automatically throw out all the work of the early Church Fathers, but if these doctrines are unscriptural (and there were just as many conflicting doctrines among the early Chruch Fathers as there are in the Church today), they have to go. It is very well known that December 25th is the date on which the ancient pagans used to celebrate Saturnalia, the winter solstice. One of the popes (and I can't remember which one) replaced the pagan holiday with Christmas. By keeping the date, he made it easier for pagans to convert, while still retaining a good portion of their culture, and thus, their identity. According to most theologians, December 25th as the actual birthdate of our Lord is highly unlikely, but noone really knows. Most say He was probably born either in March or April. December 25th is only the day we celebrate Jesus's birth.

Not sure where you are going with this to be honest but, as I am sure you know, there is nothing in the Bible to either suggest or state that Jesus was born on 12/25. He almost certainly was born in the fall. As you likely know Jesus left us with no instruction to celebrate his birthday and 12/25 was simply chosen to appease pagan converts as it coincided with the pagan celebration of the Winter Solstice. The Trinity is stated nowhere in the Bible (though some argue it is implied) and only is introduced into Christianity roughly a thousand years after Christ's death. It is not a Biblical concept. (Neither is hell as a place of eternal damnation though you did not inquire on that topic).

So there's a lot of stuff in common Christian religious teachings that is not Biblical. No surprise to me. What is your point?

Everyone of your points can be answered. But not in this forum. I suspect you know that. Also, the verse 1Tim 3:15 shows Paul saying that He is writing to show how one conducts themself in the household of God. In other words, Scripture does that. (See verse 14 that IS what Paul was writing). All of your( I assume you're Roman Catholic) RCC traditions contradict each other. All of your Popes contradict each other. God is not the author of confusion or contradiction. When these things "contradict", how do you know which one to follow? Jesus condemed calling ANYONE "Father" (Matt 23:9). He was obviously saying not to give anyone that kind of "spiritual" authority over oneself. Be it "teacher" "clergyman" or anyone else. What "tradition" and Papal Decree's brings you is: Unbiblical doctrines such as "the assumption of Mary", "the Imacculate Conception of Mary being born without sin", " Salvation by Sacrament " (works)," Transubstanstion "(sic), " Baptisal (h20) regeneration", and many others too numerous to list. As far as Sola Scriptura being taught in Scripture. It is strongly implied. Matt 10:35 has Jesus saying, "the Scripture cannot be broken". Which means, its ABSOLUTE. (And THAT sir is SOLA SCRIPTURA) "The SUM of Thy Word is Truth"--Psalm 119:160 (And THAT sir is SOLA SCRIPTURA) I could go on an on. Since too many RCC Popes and Traditions contradict (break) the plain meaning of many Scriptures, its ananthama in Gods eyes. "This is eternal life, that they may KNOW you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent"--John 17:3. The greek word for "know" is the same word used of a man "knowing" his wife. It is a word describing an intimate relationship. NOT a religion. If you do not have this "intimate" relationship with Jesus and His Father, then you are just "religious". God hates religion. It is "religion" that put His Son on the Cross. There isnt really much difference between the Hiearchy of th RCC, with their, "Hats", "Vestments", "Kissing of the Ring" , and the Jewish Sanhedrin of Jesus' day. They're both "Man-Made Religion" at its worst. John 1:12 says, "But as many as RECEIVED Him (accepts, welcomes, invites)-(see Rev 3:20), to THEM He gave the right to become children of God.....". So see, you DO need to "accept" Him. I pray some day that YOU will have this "personal, intimate" relationship with the Savior. And stop depending on RELIGION to save you......theBerean

The bible does not support that christ was born on December 25th. His birthday was never mentioned, but if you try to figure it out due to what was going on at themoment, it appears that it did happen pretty far from december due to a few reasons.

For by faith are you saved and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works, lest any man should boast.
or
professing themselves to be wise, they became fools
and finally,
Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life

Sorry if I didn't exactly follow your list

Dear Jemayen,

TheBerean put it so much better than I possibly can so I am simply adding my agreement and a Thumbs Up!

I do however wish he would use paragraphs with a blank line between each one so that not a single truth will be overlooked!

For His glory,

These are all separate questions. The answers are entirely too long to include them all together, so you've essentially ensured that no one can answer your question.

Pose them all separately and then I'll answer ... if I'm around and you ask nicely.
