Genesis 3:8-9 says that Adam and Eve successfully hid themselves from God. If he's all-knowing, how is this possible? And is there somewhere that I could hide from him so that he won't send me to his hell when I die?

Genesis 3:8-9
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
(NIV)

Or is this a simple mistranslation from all the translations the Bible went through.... if it was, is it the only one ... ?

It is not possible. Adam and Eve did not successfully hide anything from God. He new exactly where they were but allowed them to think they were hiding while knowing that their new-found iniquity has caused them shame against Him. .......You could read the Bible a thousand times and you would still not be able to understand it in the true spirit in which it was written. God will only reveal the true meaning of His scriptures to those who truly seek Him.... "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned."
(1 Corinthians 2:13-15)..... "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."
(1 Corinthians 1:17-19)

It doesn't mean they actually hid from God. God knew where they were all along and decided to play along. The important thing was getting them to confess.

It only said that God called out to them. It doesn't say that God could not find them. You don't have to not know where a person is to call out to them. When parents play hide and go seek with their children, they often already know where the kids are. To say that God could not find them is a mental leap that cannot be proven through Scripture.

Man can hide...we hide all the time but God is all knowing therfore not usefull..doesnt stop us from trying though they also covered their nakedness....We attempt to hide our sin but as we know God is all knowing. The fact God asks where they are does not mean he didnt know...It did demonstrate that man was ashamed of his sin and the story was to man for our benefit not God's.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
Now is your next question...Did God not know thay ate of the forbidden tree?
Yes he did....God questioned man the same as we question a child we sometimes ask questions we know the answer to in order to get an answer from a child.

Edit Obviously some parts are literal and others are not...What you were thinking Christ was a literal Rock? A literal Lamb? I can see your confusion.
The Bible is God's word and it conveys a message to man...the message of the Garden demonstrates mans fall and God's plan of salvation.

Adam and Eve never actually hide from God. Just as we communicate with our children, that is what God was doing with them. You know, when we know where they are but we just want to see if they will be honest? There no mis-translation in the Word of God just satan using some to try to divert God's Will for us. May God Bless U.

You can't hide from God, for He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent (look these words up if you don't know their meanings). He knows your heart and yourself so personally, that he knows how many hairs are on your head right this second and your heart's condition at all times. There is no hiding.

But there is a way into heaven so you won't go to hell! PLEASE read this link...it will change your life forever! It changed mine, and hopefully someday I'll see you in heaven!

He new were they were all the time, he also new the sin that they was going to commit, so he new that they were going to be behind the trees, but he had to call them out and let them know he new they were nude.
