Almost all of them. The mother knows from experience the mistakes a daughter can make. The daughter thinks she knows more than her out of date mother knows. Then as the daughter grows more mature she begins to see that her mother was right. She begins to learn how hard it is to be a parent. She begins to respect her mother's knowledge. And the cycle waits to begin again when the daughter has a teen-aged daughter herself.
I'm not taking about the dysfunctional families where the mother is jealous of the daughter or another of a myriad of problem families. Just the "normal" fun of the mill family. Don't know if you are the mother or daughter, but good luck either way.

my gosh! my daughter and I argue all the time..I pity the neighbours (part from the grumpy senior one)..I blame it on hormones. The fact is too my daughter sees her friends speaking to their mothers very badly, tells me about it..then tries the same thing on me. I think teenage girls try to find their own grounds, try to find loop holes in what they can get away with and what they can't,at the end of the day its a craving for independents,a voice to be heard and start of growing of remarkable strength that all us woman possess to get us through some of the difficult times in life. But my daughter and I also have a lot of times where we laugh together, hug for a moment or two..and hold great conversations (she is 13). The thing is they will go through it all themselves one day with their daughters.

Yes -- especially in the teenage years. Puberty and rebellion often contribute to fights and quarrels. Most et over it later in life and are good friends with their moms.
