Hi ,
I have a separate Home theater room of 160 S.ft , I have purchased Denon AVS 1507 A/V receiver and I have a Sony 42" LCD Projection TV .
can i have some suggestion on which DVD player will be a best mate for my A/V receiver ( I am looking for one with DTS, Dolby decoder , DiVX and to give me the best output for my receiver)
Also i am confused about the speaker system I saw Jamo 603 ( 40 K + 10 K for 6" sub woofer) or Torvin Minimax ( 20K + 10 K for 6" Sub woofer) which one to go

Can ppl throw their ideas on which will give me best combo for movie and music

Congrats! You have an excellent A/V receiver. Any decent DVD player will work well with it. Brand doesn't really matter too much as long as you avoid the cheap Wal Mart type brands. If you have the cash, get a Denon DVD player. They are excellent.
Speakers are totally a matter of personal preference. The best thing to do is to take a few of your favorite CDs and DVDs to a few home theater stores, and listen to the speakers with YOUR music. I personally like Boston Acoustics & KEF speakers best, but there are many good brands out there. I have Bostons hooked up to my Denon reciever, and they sound great. Good Luck.

Hi.The winner of the new high definition DVD player format should soon be known (HD DVD v Blu-Ray).So, you can either wait for a while or buy a cheap one for the time being.
Sounds like you have a pretty good Receiver.Denon is a well respected name in the industry.
About the speakers you have mentioned i would not get the Jamo there are much better ones for your system. How do you like your speakers to sound. Bright sounding with normal midrange.Or more of a neutral sound with equal amounts of treble midrange and bass. That is basically how speakers are divided into sound categories. How many speakers do you need for your surround sound system. Ok let's see what we can do. You need 3 for the front (main L+R +Center) 2 or 3 for the rear and 1 subwoofer.

Speakers to consider are Klipsch.Infinity JBL.Definitive.Paradigm. KEF. B&W and Wharfedale"
Have a look at the links below to get an idea of what you might like. I am not sure how much they cost but if you shop around you can usually get discounted prices. You can buy the speakers separatly if you like to create your own system. This is the easy way to go if you are not certain how to match them up properly.Cheers.I

If there are some things you are not clear about just add it to your question.

There is only one way to pick speakers. Go listen to a bunch of them at a good stereo store instead of the big name discounters and find what you like.

I like to use classical music for speakers as it is pure sound instead of the pure distortion of rock.

For the subwoofer, you can get anything you like but the rest of the speakers should all be the same.

Hope that helps.
