Hi-

Unfortunately people have painted pictures and made statues and produced movies with images of Jesus, when like you say, He most likely was not white with blue eyes. Also His earthly dad Joseph was a carpenter, so Jesus was most likely more muscled with rough hands rather than the soft hands seen in many of the pictures.

Please don't base your belief or faith on man's mistakes!!!

Mary was with child through the Holy Spirit of God. If God can make man out of the dust of the earth, He can cause a virgin to give birth to Jesus. He is supernatural after all.

Now about saints - well that is another instance where man has come up with an idea of what people looked like. AND we are not to even make graven images, so churches with statues are going against what the bible says.

I am glad that you believe in God! That is so good. God sent His Son Jesus to pay the penalty for our sin. The way to eternal life with God in heaven is by placing our faith in and believing in Jesus and following Him. The way that we know how to follow Him is written in the Bible.

I hope you have a Bible. Read and study it. If you have other questions about Jesus, God, the Bible feel free to email me.

God Bless you - Redeemed

He isn't blond haired or blue eyed. There is a painting of Jesus that looks very similar to the image Jesus left behind on the Shroud of Turin. The image is of Him with dark brown hair, large eyebrows, and brown eyes. The picture of Jesus with blond hair and blue eyes is just an interpretation by some artist.

The common depiction of Jesus you see is medieval. If you notice in American religions such as Mormon and Jehovah's witness you will see him as a healthy modern man while the medieval one is typical of the look at the time, skinny and white. He was from the middle east so theres no doubt he would really look like an arab. If you are interested in educating yourself a bit then here

Jesus obviously did not have blue eyes and blond hair. He is often depicted like that in some countries because people personalize Him and make Him look more like themselves.
He would have been dark skinned, with brown eyes and dark hair.
God impregnated Mary so that Jesus would be both human and divine. He didn't want Him to "just appear" He wanted Him to be born and grow like all men do.

Read into Islam.
He was Middle Eastern aka Semetic. He was originally Jewish. I was taught that he was pale with blue eyes and blond haired. Middle Eastern's have blond hair and blue eyes. Although it is uncommon it isn't rare. He lived in the Palestinian region, modern day Israel, many Palestinians including my grandpa have light eyes and pale skin. My moms dad is blond haired, pale, and has green eyes. Jews and Palestinians are cousins both genetically and have similar physical traits. Due to the migration of Jews after WWII after the Holocaust they came back to Israel and slowly took control of it. Many of these Jews mixed with Europeans, this causing Jews to look more white. Generally Jews and Palestinians are Semetic people. Don't think of Jesus as a Middle Easterner. Think of him as Semetic.

The apple gets a bumb rap too because some one made a painting with an apple being pulled from the "Tree of Knowelge of Good and Evil"
Get out and get in with some real Christians and not some religious club.

He didn't. They just made him look that way so that they could appeal to the majority of European converts.

Everyone knows that if anything Jesus looked more Arab than he did white.

Besides, organized religion is no good in my opinion. I just read the bible and go with that.

Are you basing wwhat you saw because you saw it on a movie? If so, think about that a little bit. Is it such a good idea to base anything on movies that you see?

Next, who says that he looked like anything? We have no record about how he looked physically until after the ascension. And just to make things a little bit weirder, the Bible says that King David was ruddy and fair. So Jesus could have looked like any other European, because David did.

You already knew the answer to that. When I was young I always thought that. It never really connected. Now that I'm an adult I feel their was a motive for that. I was shocked when I found that out. I always thought the guy portrayed in the one picture we kept on the wall was a handsome man but a hippie.
See how ignorance can play little tricks on your mind?
