The Bible does not tell us how or when the apostle Paul died, and history does not provide us with any information. The only thing we have to go on is Christian tradition, which has Paul being beheaded in Rome, around the mid 60s A.D., during the reign of Nero. Most Bible dictionaries and some commentaries can give us details on the traditions surrounding Paul's death. The following are examples:

"Concerning the time, place, and manner of his death, we have little certainty. It is commonly believed that, when a general persecution was raised against the Christians by Nero, about A.D. 64, under pretence that they had set Rome on fire, both St. Paul and St. Peter then sealed the truth with their blood; the latter being crucified with his head downward; the former being beheaded.

Paul was beheaded in the reign of the Roman Emperor Nero. This event has been dated either to the year 64, when Rome was devastated by a fire, or a few years later, to 67.

An ancient liturgical solemnity of Peter and Paul, celebrated on 29 June, could reflect the day of martyrdom, and many ancient sources articulated the tradition that Peter and Paul died on the same day (and possibly the same year)

Yes, but Paul never met Jesus prior to His crucifixion. Paul was beheaded in Rome and it is said that when his head was cut off that it rolled 3 times and at each roll water sprang forth from the ground.

He was killed by Roman soldiers on the Red Road outside of Rome.
He was a contemporary of Jesus but had a different path. He was a relatively young man of great stature.

He was converted by Jesus on the Road to Damascus.

Saul, who became Paul, was known to have been epileptic.

He had a serious seizure, and no one nearby could save him.

Very sad.
