It's always a good idea to instill a love of reading in your child. I would send her to the class, read to her at home, check to see if your local library has story hours... anything to make her love books. Don't worry, though, if she's not reading before she goes into kindergarten. My son is in kindergarten this year, and he could read a little before he started (mostly memorization though). Now, he can read very well. You will be amazed at how much your daughter learns in kindergarten.

Psychologically speaking, a child's brain is like a sponge, so, no, I do not think it is too early. As a matter of fact, many parents who want their children to pick up a second language start now, too. However, be careful to make it fun. At her age, she doesn't have the best attention span, so don't push too hard.
Yes, read to her. It is important on so many levels. Not only is it good bonding time, but it will fuel her imagination and increase her desire to read.

Has she taken an interest in reading? If she has, go with it. If she hasn’t, do not try and force it. A lot of parents worry about giving their child a “one up’ before they learn academics in school. These children often end up because they are relearning things that they already know. If your daughter is not interested now, let her learn reading in school. You wouldn't learn German before you took a German class right?
You can work with her learning just a letter sounds. You want her to have the basic knowledge that a given symbol represents a given sound. You can play games like "I spy" with her. "I spy in my little eye something that starts with the letter "mmmmm." Teach her lower case letters! Her teacher will expect her to learn lower case first since these letters are in most of our writing. You can have a flash card with the symbol for her to recognize as well as object for her to match the card to. Read to her daily! Keep it fun!
Look into some early readers such as Bob Books http://www.amazon.com/Bob-Books-Set-1-Beginning-Readers/dp/0439845009/ref=pd_bbs_11/102-6612505-7196962?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179253682&sr=8-11 and Hello Reader! http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/102-6612505-7196962?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=easy+readers+hello+reader and I Can Read books http://www.amazon.com/Splish-Splash-First-Can-Read/dp/0064442829/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-6612505-7196962?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179254084&sr=1-1
Hope this helps!

I think it is a great idea. It will jumpstart your daughter's education and make her ahead of the rest of the class. Plus it can make reading fun.
