I've just become a Surrogate mother to a 4-5 week old kitten. I've had him about 8 hours before which he was abandoned with his sister. My vet said that because his cainen teeth have begun to cut through I should feed him moistened kitty food, however he refuses to eat. What should I do? Revert to a form of liquids? wait for him to eat the solids?

Try mothers milk.Any Petco or Pet-smart will have it.You also might have to force feed him.Try a medicine dropper. But be careful you need to do it slow or you could drown him.Feel free to email me.Also let me know how he's doing please.

About four years ago, we rescued two newborn kittens we found on the side of the road. They wouldnt eat kitten food even wet, but they would eat wet food really runny, we mixed it with kitten milk. You may have to actually help it into its mouth until it gets the hang out of. Its alot different than momma's milk.

Best of luck!

They will eat dry food with milk if they don't eat it you can refrigerate it and bring it out later. They will eat canned food. Check to see what is not on recall and mix canned and dry together and they will eat it.
