Yep it's real. But you didn't win.
The only way to win is to pay to play. If you do win, they don't contact you. It's just like any other lottery you've played.
You can play online, but only if you live in the UK, and it still costs a pound ($2).

Hey,
The national lottery costs 1 pound to play ($2)...The prizes are given for 3 balls and up...There are a total of 49 numbers to choose from and you can pick 6 numbers. It is different from the USA lottery in as much as what you win, you win, and keep...NONE of this pay you your winnings in installments. You can play online but I think you have to be UK resident??? you might want to check that one.
Oh, and FYI, I played it for 6 years and won 10 pounds about 4 times... I did buy my brother a ticket for his birthday as a joke and he won $4,000...
