I'm 12 and I'm getting ready to go to a Bat Mitzvah. I have to fit into a great dress and I hate my legs. Is there a way to get skinny and get better legs in less than a month?

OK, I'm sorry, but Eric is an idiot and is only trying to sell you something. No way would a person in his right mind try to sell a 12 year old looking for answers about weight some form of pills!
Here is my best advice.
I struggled with weight for years, starting around your age. I dieted and tried everything, and sometimes it worked, but it always ALWAYS came back...usually along with a few more pounds. The only thing I remember about my teen years was starving, exercising and hating myself, especially my legs.

When I was 25 or so, I had this sudden realization that nobody really cared about what my legs looked like, they were all busy obsessing about their own legs. And if it wasn't their legs...they hated something else. You ask every girl you know and everyone will hate something about their body...even if they look perfect.
That's when I realized I could never win.
When I decided not to hate myself, and didn't put myself down in public...when I started to enjoy excercise and eat healthy foods because I liked my body and not because I was "dieting" everything changed.
I lost all the weight, I look great, I feel great. I have great looking legs. But it didn't happen in only a month. It wasn't a quick fix. There is no such thing.

I only regret that I listened to people like Eric when I was 12 and believed that I would only be a better person when I had slightly better looking legs (that no one noticed but me).

I don't mean to sound like an Oprah episode, but this is a really crazy time of life for you.
If choose to ignore this and think I am some crazy ranting adult...that's ok.
But the one thing I beg you not to do.
Please please don't start starving yourself to lose weight.
It will stop your metabolism, make you overweight, and could do damage to your body that you will never be able to undo.

Good luck at the Bat Mitzvah.

Honey, 12 is way too young to worry about your legs. But if you want to get in shape, learn a few stretching exercises. Then walk or run.
