You added dense muscles in place of your flabby fat.
That is a good thing!

Well if you've been doing weights and things like that you're probably building muscle. You'll look slimmer if you have more muscle than fat but remember that muscle weighs twice as much as fat. If you want to lose weight and not gain muscle I would suggest doing more cardio and less muscle gaining excercises.

Um, for those who said muscle weighs more than fat: A pound of muscle is equal to a pound of fat. They both are a pound.
As the first person who answered stated, muscle has a much higher density than body fat. As such, a smaller volume of muscle will weigh the same as a larger volume of fat. You've reduced your overall "volume" while maintaining your weight by adding dense muscle with not-so-dense fat.
What you have done is great. Good job.

Simple one here... muscle weighs more than fat! Especially at the beginning of a workout routine it's not uncommon to gain weight but look better.
Keep up the good work!

Try eating more bread and noodles, or food made from wheat. I observed that some of my friends who like eating noodles instead of rice are significantly taller and have more flesh. Also, you can observe that those who got bread or noodles as their staple diet like the Europeans and Northern Chinese, they are bigger in size and taller than Asians who has rice as their staple food.
Wheat consists of proteins while rice consists of carbohydrates. This may be the reason why people on these two different diets are significantly different in size.
These are just my opinions, not sure whether they are true.
Of course, gym training is still important for body building and weight gain.

hello,
by what you described --working out, but weighing the same.
this is common, the simple fact is muscle weighs more than fat. you working out is putting more muscle on your frame, while reducing your fat. the extra benefit of this is that becasue you have more muscle your metabolism will be increased burning calories at a faster weight, probably you are now glowing with this energy and even your posture and stature have changed and this is what your freind noticed--
keep it up good looking.

I actual have been doing ww for a three hundred and sixty 5 days. i'm 5'6 and that i advance into 10st 12 whilst i all started and advance into an (uncomfortable) length 12. I specifically all started it via fact my eating recurring advance into undesirable and that i advance into particularly flabby. Now i'm 9st 7 that's my objective weight. It took me a three hundred and sixty 5 days to loose via fact i exercised ordinary and so geared up up particularly some muscle. It did no longer fairly difficulty me what the scales suggested as i knew i advance into loosing the flab as i could desire to be sure extra muscle definition. i'm now a length 10 and experience plenty extra advantageous. save going with your recurring, your doing it the appropriate way. it could desire to take longer so you might loose yet you will look fab. sturdy success Xx

While you workout, you lose flab first. It makes you look slimmer. But to lose weight, you need to keep working as you gain muscle initially.
As you keep working, your muscle gets used to the stress and you burning fat. Thats when you lose weight.
To lose weigh immediately, go for aerobics and light cardios rather than weights.

Muscle is much denser than fat. This means that you could be shrinking and getting leaner while your weight is the same or even more. It also explains why a measuring tape is much more useful than the scale.
Here is some more info about measuring your progress and body composition:

You probably had a little bit of fat, and after working out, you toned out and filled up. You might think you look the same, but other people notice.
