I understand that translations to other languages can lead to errors given the fallibility of humans...but what makes even the original Arabic worthy of conveying Allah's word? Surely the nuances of Allah's words are beyond the ability of Arabic (or any language) to capture. Wouldn't this at least put all of the verses of the Koran open to interpretation (and just some of them)?

ALLAH Chose the arabic language to convey the Quran.
ALLAH chose this to be one of the Miracles of Prophet Mohammed(pbuh).
People were very advanced in poetry at the time, the language was at it's peak, so Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) was given the best poetry to ever be heard or read.
It has the best of everything, It has the best grammer, the best poetry, etc...

Arabic is the most developed language ever it has so much vocabularies 28 letters that Other languages can't pronounce
and Allah had challenged all humans to create a perfect book like quran it's impossible to get a perfect translation of it cos
beside there is ( the numbers miracles in the holy quran )) if you know about it it means if you put a number instead of every single letter of it you will get a great numbers system that protects the quran from any edit or changee so you can't chang anything of it not even a single letter
I my self know Arabic and English and I'm telling you there are verses in Quran that have different meanings and all of those meanings are correct ...!!! if you translated to English all what you get is one of those meanings and lose all the others
there is more and more reasons that make Quran impossible to be translated into other languages and keep it's beauty at the same time

Because some of the words can only be understood in arabic.The translations sometimes dont convey the message correctly. Thats why I read multiple translations to get a better understanding of the verse.

You've answered your own question. When a language is translated it can often be mistranslated. This leads to a different meaning of text then what was implied. Arabic is also a complex language made of root words, get the wrong root and you have a whole new meaning.

The koran is not wtitten in Arabic, as such. It's written in Koranic Arabic.
Shakespeare's plays are still fun when presented in modern english but that doesn't change the fact they were written in skakespearean english.
Translations of the koran usually describe themselves as "not unholy" rather than wrong.

The torah was in Hebrew...bcoz it was Moses' people's language...Moses was also given certain miracles...his 'stick' had magical powers that crushed those of the tyrant Pharon (the ruler of egypt)
Jesus was also given the ability to perform miracles...he could awaken the dead for instance...
Each prophet was 'given' miracles that suited his own people...miracles that could convince them that God existed..
Prophet Muhammad's people, the arabs, were fascinated by poetry and literature...the Quraan's literary value alone was considered a miracle to the arabs, bcoz they alone understood the depth of their language...that's y Quraan is in Arabic...
but like u said, there could be countless translation errors.
However, it is still okay for people to follow a translated version of the Quraan, bearing in mind that translations might lead to misinterpretations.
It is NOT bcoz "muslims tend to find excuses, so they jump to hadith"...or whatever...such ignorant people really annoy me..

i think it is because there are some arabic words that cannot be fully translated and the other language versions are interpetations...

In order to continue fooling people, especially in the West. Some Muslims don't even know what they are praying about. That's weird.
