Satan was created as a holy angel. Isaiah 14:12 possibly gives Satan’s pre-fall name as Lucifer. Ezekiel 28:12-14 describes Satan as having been created a cherubim, and was apparently the highest created angel. He became arrogant in his beauty and status, and decided he wanted to sit on a throne above that of God (Isaiah 14:13-14; Ezekiel 28:15; 1 Timothy 3:6). Satan’s pride led to his fall. Notice the many “I will…” statements in Isaiah 14:12-15. Because of his sin, God threw Satan out of heaven.

Satan became the ruler of this world that functions apart from God, and the prince of the power of the air (John 12:31; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:2). He is an accuser (Revelation 12:10), a tempter (Matthew 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 3:5), and a deceiver (Genesis 3; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:3). His very name means adversary or “one who opposes.” Another name used for Satan, the devil, means “slanderer.”

Even though he was cast out of heaven, he still seeks to elevate his throne above God. He counterfeits all that God does, hoping to gain the worship of the world and foment opposition to God's kingdom. Satan is the ultimate source behind every false cult and world religion. Satan will do anything and everything in his power to oppose God, and those who follow God. However, Satan’s destiny is sealed – an eternity in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10).

Satan was once one of God's most cherished angels until he [Gabriel or Lucifer, Satan] whatever you want to call him, sought to over throw God for control of the universe. He became so vain and proud that he thought he should be ruler of the universe. His enormous talents and abilities led him to believe he was equal and even greater than God himself. Thus by rebelling against the creator he transformed himself to Satan or the devil!
Thus today Satan and his demons [fallen angels who rebelled along side of Satan against God] are adversaries of humanity (Matt. 12:45). They want to cause trouble between people here on earth because they want people to fall away from God. He wants to keep you from worshipping God. He wants you too to rebel against God.
These demons have nothing to lose as they know they are doomed already as they know their fate to come in judgement and destruction.
They can affect people both morally and mentally and in some instances physically.
So I guess you can say he is jealous of us and seeks to destroy us in our daily lives so as we can turn away from God.

You answered your own question. Humans ARE different than the Angels. We irked Satan to such a degree because we are different that he rebelled against GOD.

Satan is envying God of his power and wanted to show to mankind that he can overpower God. Her is doing all remedies to convince mankind that he is mightier than God and his mission now in the world is to tempt mankind to do evil matters. And he is contesting God.

Hate? You do realize rhat he was supposed to be an angel, who defied god and was put down for it. God chose hmanity over his angels. Consider it like an elder child relationship with the fawned upon and adored sibling. Loves that sibling, but hates that they get all the attention.

Temptation of humans isn't against them, it's against god.

satan was refined from the fire
he feels man is but unbaked clay ,he was there when god made adam [god told all the angels to bow down before adam]
satan alone refused and was cast down [sewn into the skin of a snake [made incarnate [encased with ''clay]
he still feels man dosnt ''get'' god is love ,that he created man as much to teach satan as satan teaches man

at every stage satan was there [the koran reveals he was with mosus ] ,he was in the garden , he even ''tempted the [our ] christ ,who knows this realm of creation belongs to satan ,[who is the oft spoken ''lord'' he even has his people who deney the christ [indeed crusified him]
jesus bespoke of the father [not the lord ] indeed people often refer to him as a lord
there are indeed many lords [but only one father ]

when satan destroyed the sodemites he bespoke it into word that this is gods judgement , indeed it is satan who tested job , even there in planting more seeds
his fruit would be if we destroyed ourselves in an appocolyptic armogeddon [that men extinct man] he has planted the seeds and his deceptions inthe word held sacred to many beliefs [has altered the understanding in word and deed ] there is no belief he has not tested [indeed any sacred book must be read on the ubnderstanding that satan has had a hand in its writting
satan does not do what he has done for mischioef but to test men in the highest order to find the living love of grace ourselves [how easy would it not be for god to proove he uis god and thats it
we must test ourselves ,. allow each to find the one truth ammoung all the tares ,satan indeed taught the best of our many teaches but he taught them obout the ubseen dead god of words , not the living loving one we must all strive [to sek ] that we will find

He found out that God would become a man and he is full of pride and he did not want to have to serve someone as inferior to him as he thought man was.
