Jab is your lead hand - left if you are orthodox, and Right if you are a southpaw.
Cross is your follow hand usually the knockout punch - Right if you are orthodox and left if you are a southpaw.
Jabs can put you to sleep also - Sonny Liston, Ernie Shavers and George Foreman.

jab is a quick front hand technique and cross is a follow up rear hand technique...im sure a boxer could explain it better than me :-)
