Example: If your brothers name is John smith and you name your son John Smith does that make your son Jr, the II, or is he just John Smith?

just john smith...you only get a jr or the II if the father and son share the same name.

Just John Smith. Jr and II are for blood lines.

He would be John Smith II. Junior only applies to a son with the same name.
