Hell no. NASCAR is the second most popular sport in the country. It attracts one-hundred thousand plus people to the track each week. You talk about a total team sport, NASCAR teams have to be consistent on every pit stop. If one person screws up it could cost them the race. Also, contrary to people thinking it is not a sport, NASCAR drivers train just like any other professional athlete. Look at the drivers from Roush Racing like Carl Edwards and Jamie McMurray. Also, Mark Martin is 48 and probably could drive another twenty years if he wanted to. My point is that some people will not like NASCAR and will never get what it is about. However, the NASCAR nation and people who go to races enjoy it and are loyal to our drivers and not fickle fans like most sports have.

No, I don't think it should be. For those of you who are talking about global warming and all that, where do you draw your line? Why Nascar? Because it is auto racing? Sorry, that is just a cope out. Why not Baseball then, who exhaust far more fuel than Nascar when you look at things on a whole. Why not taxi's who probably idle more fuel away in this country than Nascar does? For those of you who are talking about the sport itself, to each their own. I don't like soccer but could care less about those who do, don't care to debate it. I probably don't understand the sport, although my mother made me play it one year, have no interest to develop an understanding of it but do not feel the need to ripe into those who do. To each their own.

Your right, NASCAR is not a sport, IT'S A WAY OF LIFE!!!!!!! What other sport has fans so dedicated they spend not just one day tailgaiting, but instead a whole weekend? What other sport has fans who will scream at the top of their lungs even though the person they cheer for can't hear them? What other sport has fans who become intoxicated not just hours prior to an event, but days? Next to football, NASCAR is the second most popular sport in the US. The Daytona 500 is the second most viewed event in the US. Ads for that race are now close to that of the Super Bowl. Over 100,000 overly dedicated fans travel to the track each week, and millions tune in at home. Add to that a growing international fan-base, where over 200,000 people showed up to watch the race in Mexico City. Name another event that had 200,000 other than a soccer game???? Go ahead, I dare you to!!!!! You can't!!!! So go ahead, watch your field hockey, your bowling, your beloved Desperative Houswives or whatever it is you watch, but on Sunday when I get home from Church, I want to see cars going near 200 mph for 300 laps only inches apart...DEAL WITH IT!!!!

As for the global warming or greanhouse effect, I'd be more worried about the brain cells you burnt to come up with the idea of canceling NASCAR....

I don't get the whole concept of anyone thinking NASCAR should be banned. First, why? I really don't get it. Second, more people watch NASCAR than any other sport! I'm curious to hear one good reason why anyone thinks it should be banned.

Let me show you my intellect side with a little sarcasm. Your grandfathers and generations before them had pumped more pollutants in the air then we do now. Back then in the days of black coal eating trains and cars with no emission standards was very common. How many recycling plants were there then? Was there a smog check on vehicles? Now that we have the technology to measure our global effect, you want to go and hug a tree. Buy a chia pet if you like growing vegetations. Do yourself a favor, slap your grandpa in the face and tell him its from all the Yahoo NASCAR fans in here. Tell him its for burning regular leaded gas while he took your trail mix crunching hippie dad to meet your pot smoking, back seat of a Dodge Dart hot rod loitering mom. Now comes you. Your lucky I'm out of time. I have a tree to cut down with my gas powered black smoking chain saw. Tomorrow, I'm going to get some aerosol deodorant. Then bust the copper tubing that's filled with freon on the old frig outside of the house.

You just shook a hornets nest mitch, let me know if your wondering how many NASCAR fans there are in here so I can disclose your e-mail address. We do say nice things sometime.

what kinda stupid question is that? If anything should be banned its those skanky music videos dripping with sex and violence that are ruining our kids. And don't say to monitor what they watch...you can't be with them 24-7. What should be banned is you asking ignorant questions....you probably don't even watch NASCAR.

no, it's proving darwin's theory of evolution. smart people live and the dumb people die off. let the stupid rednecks drive cars 200 miles an hour. every now again some redneck crashes and dies. anyone with any amount of intelligence wouldn't ever dream of doing something so stupid. nascar is just ridding the world of stupid rednecks.
