Yes, it is. 2/3 is also 8/12. 1/4 is 3/12. 8 is more than 3.

1.multiply top and bottom of 2/3 by the denominator of the other fraction
4/4 x 2/3
8/12

2.multiply top and bottom of 1/4 by the denominator of the other fraction so that both have the same denominator:

1/4 x 3/3
3/12

therefore 2/3 is bigger than 1/4

Yeah. Easy math ... 2/3 is 8/12, while 1/4 is 3/12. But then again you were probably kidding ... I fall for stuff like that at least 2/9 of the time.

Yes, 2/3 is more - about 66% ... while 1/4 is only 25%. Think of it in terms of parts of 100. If you divided 100 by 3 each part would be roughly 33.3. If you divide by 4 each part is 25. Hope it helps!!!

OOPS Tea C you are wrong. One cup is NOT 16 ounces. One cup is only 8 ounces. Hence 1/4 cup is 2 ounces and 2/3 cup is 5 and 1/3 ounces.
