I know what you mean!! I think so because when I am going through trails, I pray more, read more and fast more than when I am having a wonderful day.....God won't put more on you than you can bare. We go through the fire to make us strong!

Here are a few verses that came to mind:
James 1:1-17 would be an excellent passage to read.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
Phillippians 4:13 I can do everthing through him who gives me strength.
1 Peter 1:6-7 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
I hope the above versus help.

Life is a learning experience no doubt. But hardships and good times are products of what we visualize everyday. It took me years to learn this but most of everything that has happened to me (good or bad) was my own doing and bad things occurred with my own negative thoughts. I see things differently now and everything has changed accordingly.
So I have learned a great lesson. I believe in God and his intervention, but I still have to have a strong mind, faith and keep positive so I can keep receiving his blessings. Negative thoughts will do you in every time. It's a choice we make every day. It's our free will.

In Ezekiel 3:17-21 God talks about the fact that He provides tests - or stumbling blocks - that text the strength of our trust and love for Him... it would be like Abraham being commanded to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice... and then after Abraham demonstrates his obedience - God provides the ram for the substitute sacrifice instead.
Remember also:
James 1:2-3 My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure.
James 1:12-13 Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because when they succeed in passing such a test, they will receive as their reward the life which God has promised to those who love Him. If we are tempted by such trials, we must not say, "This temptation comes from God." For God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself tempts no one.
1st Peter 1:6 Be glad about this, even though it may now be necessary for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer.
2nd Peter 2:9 And so the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials and how to keep the wicked under punishment for the Day of Judgment...
We never know when the deliverence will come - we just need to be faithful in our belief that He is able to deliver us from the burden of these trials.
Our faith must remain strong - and when it wavers, we need to ask for His help.
Mark 9:21 And He asked his father, "How long is it ago since this came unto him?" And he said, "Of a child.
Mark 9:22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us."
Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, "*IF* thou canst believe? All things are possible to him that believeth!
Mark 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief!!
Keep the faith, dear one.
Peace.

Trials and tribulations come with both a purpose and a reward. "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him" (James 1:2-4,12).

Perseverance, Character and Hope
Ro 5:3 - 5 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

We all have our life stories. Some are worse than others but, to us, our life is the most difficult. When things aren't going your way over and over, it's because that moment in time it was God protecting you from something He knew you weren't ready for.

He is training us. He is making us fit for heaven. The only way a Christian will learn patience for example (a fruit of the Spirit that we should have) is through troubles.
