I know it's hard for many of us to imagine our religion being incorrect, but you must accept the premise in order to enjoy the thought experiment:

If God Himself advised you to abandon your religion, whose advice would you put first, God's or your religion's?

(These thought experiments are important for coming to terms with what is most important to us.)

As a Scientologist I would definitely ask why?

If I had: an All Powerful, a Supreme Being, God, Allah or whatever their title was that day, my question would be why and what do you propose we do about all this drama we here right now?

How do we solve the drugging of people, how do we solve failing education systems, how do we solve the breakdown of the family unit? If they could answer these questions and show results, fine I'm in.

The bottom line is what works should be applied! If Islam works for you, if Buddhism works for you, if Atheism works for you great, if any of the varied religions or non religions work great keep going.

But if it doesn't work!! As in if it doesn't help you, your neighbour, you family, your friends, you as a spiritual being, your god and as many other areas as possible, maybe it time to look at something else.

Religion won't save you. It's truth that will set you free. What is the truth. Acts 2:38 (King James Version)

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Furthermore, if any man/angel preach something different they are cursed.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galations 1:8

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

If the Word was here and established in the beginning how can God change the Word for HE is the Word and has always been from the beginning of time. If God was to speak something or declare truth, it would simply be. Why, because HE is God and HE cannot lie. For whatever HE speaks will happen- HE is God Almighty.

No, I would not switch religions.
Doing so would be inconsistent with what the prophets have already written.
Peter says it's a MORE sure word of prophecy.
I'll stay where I am because of the prophets, not because of a false word from a false god.

I guess if I was convinced that it was indeed God, I would do whatever he asked me to do.

But that would only be if I were convinced it was God.

But is this really a fair question? If God appeared and told me that my faith was all wrong, I would think that I would be pretty confused.

I would wonder if it were a more sinister messanger simply pretending to be God.

But again, if I thought it was God, I guess I would follow his orders.

Sorry I wrote so much (I got carried away):

Well, I guess if god appeared to me and told me to become a Christian...well, I would have to say "God, if you are a Christian god, then I have some beef with your holy book." Then I would try to hammer out the details with him. If my opinion was unimportant to god, then I would try to figure something out. I mean, I don't want to go to hell for all eternity, but I don't want to go to heaven as that would be like a hell for me (if for no other reason than that I have no other choice - but also because I don't want god to take away my sorrow, anger and stress, because those are aspects of my personality). Maybe I would ask god if he would put me out of my misery and just wipe me out of existence.

I really hope that doesn't happen...

I would follow the faith that God wanted me to follow...not the one I was raised in or that man has created. If he said to me to do this and worship that....I would do as he said...he is God afterall. But, he would have to show himself as God to me...and not just some David Koresh kind of nutball saying he is God. Im talking big booming voice...larger than life, clean hair and teeth, good smell..whole nine yards.

That essentially happened, through a near-death experience (NDE). Except it wasn't God but Satan I was confronted with. I ran the other way, crying out to God for the first time to save me. He did. I didn't have to do anything but surrender to him, and then I was back here and out of the NDE.

God never told the prophets of old to switch religions.
he told them to warn people of their sin, or turn away from idols and false gods, or how he was going to deliver them from thei enemy's.
bible says;
Mal 3:6 For I [am] the LORD, I change not
