Well, it is mostly bad luck.

Daytona - docked points after inspection problems and lost Kenny Francis for four weeks.

California (very next week) - Engine failure, finishes 38th

Accident in Vegas the following week with Gilliland - he blames Gilliland for that one, another wreck in Atlanta the week after that happened right in front of him.

Mostly bad luck, but it appears that all this bad luck has really made it almost impossible for him to make the chase.

Some how I doubt its Ray's girlfriend thats distracting him and causing Kasey to run poorly. Remember none of Everham's teams are running well at all. Riggs didn't even make the Darlington race. It's a combination of things I'm sure. The COT has added a lot of pressure to all the organizations and some people just have a better feel for it than others. It's also draining funds and I'm sure they are working long hours building cars and motors and all this contributes to someone dropping the ball. Every one has bad years from time to time. Jeff Gordon didn't even make the chase 2 years ago and this year he's set to win his 5th championship.

I think it is equipment, the Dodges are not up to par with any of the other cars, and in addition to that, the Dodge guys have slightly modified the nose of the charger for this year as well as having the cot to build. Also Evernhanm is not as big a corporation as Hendricks or Rousche, so I believe the workload is too hard on the shop. I believe that Kasey and Kenny Francis (crew chief) are capable of competing I just don't thinnk they have the car to.

Kasey is doing poorly this 12 months, because of the fact sidestep has replaced noses and that they didnt get a shield on the hot nostril, and EMS is suffering preserving up with the COT demands and getting to grasp the hot nostril,it is the reason they went backto each and every of the 06 stuff. All drivers have an off 12 months besides. Kaseys 05 became into undesirable to,purely feels like they cant get the automobile to his liking this 12 months. he would be back next 12 months,and espically in view that Ray has a sparkling significant different its going to assist EMS get to the stunning. additionally because of the fact ray couldnt concentration on purely the racing, he had to attend to bussiness stuff, Now that he has this new significant different ray will notably lots be the compeition director and thats going to make an excellent progression.!

I think it is Evernham's equipment and the Car of Tommorrow. I don't know if Evernham has the funding needed to catch up with the Chevrolets or the time devoted. I know it is a personal issue, but I do question if Ray Evernham is maybe a little to devoted to his girlfriend (Erin Crocker) and not enough to his race team. I mean how does a winner of six races drop that fast besides bad luck. I know Hendrick has dominated, but I am still questioning the equipment they use and the motivation of Ray Evernham to take his program to the next level.

Its bad luck and Evernham Motorsports not having consistantly good equipment. Its pretty obvious that none of the Dodge teams work together even something major that effects all of them. Evernham was good last year but the others werent. Penske has figured out this year and the others dont. Its not Dodge.

I think at the first of the year it was the cars,but when he got the cars right he was so far behind in points that he started driving to aggressive and he just isn't an aggressive driver he is more of a finesse driver he just needs to calm down in the next few weeks or he's going to miss the chase all together.

I don't thing its the COT, he hasn't looked good in any of the races. I don't think its any ONE thing in particular. I really thought he would be one of the contenders this year, but he does good to finish on the lead lap. I don't know what has changed since last year, but he really needs to find out and change it back to the way it was. I'm not a big fan, just think he's a pretty cool guy. It might be that he took a hard hit and is scared to push the throttle all the way to the floor..... I haven't heard of any personel changes...

I think that he's spending too much time making commercials and not enough time concentrating on racing. Maybe if they put those women from the commercials in a car behind him he could win or at least place in the top 5. lol

To me I think it was the whole penalties thing that happend at Daytona. I mean you get bad luck at the beginning of a season for any sport of course your gonna do poorly until you figure out how to get things back to the way it was before all of the bad luck happend.
