Wellbutrin did not work for me, it worked at first but then stopped. After upping my dosage, it just got worse.
So now I want to try something new. I was just wondering if anyone who was on Wellbutrin and got on something else and it ended up working better?
I know its a trial-and-error process with meds, but I just would like to hear some personal experiences.
Thanks.

I was given a variety of anti-depressants a few years ago, and the worst reaction I had was to wellbutrin. I got so numb that I could walk into a wall and not feel it; it was like being on novocaine. Body chemistries are all different. I took prozac and felt fine; other people get jittery.

Welbutrin has two different types of delivery methods, one is the regular dosage that goes right to work and the other is the extended release dosage. If you have tried one and not the other, you should give the other a try.I take it and it has been great for me, I quit smoking, and dropped 30lbs all in 4 months. I have been on it now for over a year and it helps keep my weight down and it also keeps me from letting some of my ocd habits take over. I cannot take it at night though, it wires me so badly that I dont sleep. I find it to be a God send, everything else either made me sick or didnt work.

I took Wellbutrin and it worked great for me. I even quit smoking while I was on it. I have taken Zoloft which did not work and Effexor which I will NEVER take again because of the side effects. Everyone is different and their brain chemistry is different. What works for me may not work for you. Well butrin takes about 2-3 weeks to even begin to work. If it doesnt work for you talk to your doctor and tell them you want to try something different. Your right...it is a trial and error thing. Good Luck!

My first question to you is are you seeing a specialist or just a family Dr. You really need to see a specialist who knows much better symptoms, drugs, effects, etc. Wellbutrin never did work for me personally, and I have refractory depression. (Most drugs do not work for me) Currently I am on a mixture of different meds. to keep me somewhat stable. Currently I am on Cymbalta, Strattera, Klonapin, Lamictal, Adderall XR, Rozerem, and take folic acid. I have been on approximately 3/4 of the meds. for depression, anxiety and it is a trial and error process. I wish you luck.

Wellbutrin did not work for my friend so they switched him to Paxil and that has been very successful.
