I am "pretty sure" I believe in God ? Wrong answer !! The devil and the unbelievers are the ones` laughing at you now , and you `re not even dead yet , physically dead that is !! ( Study Proverbs , Chapter 16 .) Are you saved ? You might want to question your Faith closer , in the fact that say " you question Him",and in the same statement you say you " Pray to Him a lot every night ". It is obvious that your Prayers must be going un - answered , as you are Praying to a God you question exist ? Your issue now is with the Lord , not with anyone on yahoo answers . My humble advice would be to re - dedicate yourself to God . Then God can hear your Prayers , and show you his love and care for you . God Bless & Prayers for you also !!!!! PS .. All of us have weak moments , so don`t feel alone ..

Whatever you do, keep believing in him.
All throughout the Bible prophesies have been made... all have come/will come true; like the prophesizing of Jesus - Daniel 9:20-27 - this prophesy was acurate to the exact date Jesus was crucified (after translated) 30 a.d - How could God not exist if People hundreds of years ago predicted in detail what would happen in 30 a.d. in Jerusalem? How can science prove that?
Also, the increasing number of non-believers is a sign of the end times. In the end times, there will be Very Very few believers - I'm guessing because they believe science proves God doesn't exist - but science hasn't been around long, and there are so many things we don't know about God.
I really hope this helped somewhat, it's SO much easier to explain it in person.
Without God, we have no purpose, we have no afterlife, we have no morals, we have nothing.
God Bless You,
I'll pray for you. :)

"and I wonder if some day people might laugh at us-because they find out he doesn't exhist"
That day isn't going to happen, we are going to be sad, when they find out that they were wrong. You might not want to be in this section until your a bit stronger in your faith. You don't want to read the crap on here when your faith is detered. For example that moron that posted above, about you having a moment of clarity. Talk to a pastor and keep reading the Bible, you'll be surprised how much that helps.

Knowledge Builds Faith
Faith is an act of trust. It is based on accurate knowledge and experience. The more you know about God and the more experience you have with his Word and his ways, the stronger your faith will be. The Bible says: “Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for.” (Hebrews 11:1) How could your faith be assured if you had only a shallow knowledge of what God has done? God gave you intellect, intelligence and the ability to understand. These are gifts, and he expects you to use them in learning about him. If you write a letter to someone, you expect him to read it, not just put it on a shelf or leave it on a table as an ornament. Have you read and studied God’s letters to us—his written Word? By studying and understanding it you will learn things you would not otherwise know. It is important to remember the value of the information that the Bible provides. One Christian said: “Persons who express doubts usually don’t study very much. They don’t know a lot about the Bible—they never really make the truth their own.” If you would like a free Bible study through email write me bible_comfort@yahoo.com sherrie

WE all go through a doubting time!
Just keep praying and tell God you are trying to be ready when the teacher of God you need comes along.
There have always been scoffers, scorners, and those who ridicule. There was in the time of Jesus - there are today and there will be in the distant future.
The anti and non Christian are very good at poking holes in obvious errors that are made by men of religion.
Some of these make real pretty little movies and are very convincing - they are a lie nonetheless.
Read Proverbs 3:5&6

There is nothing wrong with questioning your beliefs.maybe looking at other systems will give you a better understanding.
Maybe it is a test of faith or your faith is in the wrong religion.
The only people that will laugh are the ones that don't understand because they are closed minded. I am pagan and i looked at alot of different religions and landed where i am now.religion is a choice so choose what feels right to you not everyone around you.Open your heart and mind and it will come to you.

If you seek him you will find him. Nobody on Yahoo answers whether Christian or atheist can give you a tidbit that will give you assurance of salvation or knowledge of God. You know what though? you wouldn't want one of us to convince you anway.
I don't know if you're in college or have a job or what but the best way for you to have your faith come alive is to take a few days without TV or any entertainment and get alone somewhere, no distractions, and ask God to reveal himself to you. That's all you have to do. Get yourself in a place without emotional distractions and seek God. Ask him to reveal himself to you. After that, do what he puts in your heart. Be obedient to what you read in the Bible. Love God with all of your heart and love those around you.
You'll be fine and you will get through this.

Do not worry overly much about your questioning. The Bible tells us to do this very thing. There are many that will go through their life without ever evaluating their salvation experience and only realize on judgment day that they have made a grievous error.
Take the test below. It is a good exercise to help you evaluate where you are spiritually.

What is wrong with questioning? Would you rather be true to the faith that lives in your heart, or to hold onto a faith that someone else told you is correct? Find God yourself...you don't get close to God by just going to church and listening to the preacher. I assure you, the most solid your faith will ever feel to you is when you explore it yourself using your own heart and your own mind for discovery and not the words of someone else.

You shouldn't be ashamed of what you believe, unless its against the Bible. It's Satan who is playing around with you. That is why you are getting doubts of your faith. Keep strong, it's the hard battles and the suffering that makes us mature and grow spiritually. I'll pray for you. God Bless!
