the M77 is a fine weapon. Not a tack driver but not shabby in the least. As near a perfect hunting rifle as one can find.

The "all weather" part....well, I like synthetics on a "meant to be used" pickup truck rifle. Just don't buy the original stock with the big "Ruger" molded into it. You'll probably come to regret it.

It might be alright in some calibers, but I had one in .300 WinMag that was a real dog.

The light sporter weigh barrel would heat up by the third shot and throw bullets all over the target.

I tried bullets weighing from 100 grains to 220 grains, three different primers, and seven different powders. I loaded to velocities little better than .30-30 WCF levels to 3300 + fps levels. I just could not get the damned thing to group worth cussing.

When I got rid of it, I swore I'd never buy another stainless steel rifle, especially one with a skinny barrel. And if I ever buy another Ruger M-77, it will be a carbon steel model.
