Some people are very open and do mind sharing said information. Other people are more comfortable asking those they do not know in real life, some people just can't talk to those they know about these things. Not everyone is a prude.

They're too embarrassed to talk about them with their closest friends or they want the shock factor. Personally, I appreciate it when people ask questions, even if they shock me. It helps me to understand what others may be thinking.

Apparently, there are many people who have no where else to ask such questions. And then, there are those poor, unfortunate people who do such things for shock value. They actually think that they are being amusing and entertaining! By they're not.
