It's similar to the traditional "now I lay me down to sleep", but has that particular phase in it about an angel at my head and 2 at my feet. I'm looking to find it to print out for a friend.

You might be thinking of a song from the opera Hansel and Gretel by Humperdink. In it, he re-worded the night prayer.

When at night I go to sleep
Fourteen angels watch do keep,
Two my head are guarding,
Two my feet are guiding,
Two are on my right hand,
Two are on my left hand,
Two who warmly cover,
Two who o'er me hover,
Two to whom is given to guide my steps to Heaven.

Other version:
Evenings when I drift to sleep
Fourteen angels watch do keep;
Two stand guard above my head,
At my feet two softly tread,
Two stand at my right side,
Two upon my left bide,
Two who cozy make me,
Two from sleep awake me,
Two who guide my steps a-right
And lead me on to Heaven's Light.

It's from the opera 'Hansel und Gretel', by Engelbert Humpderdinck. (The original, that is; not the Welshman whose real name is Gerry Dorsey.) The words are as follows:

Abends, will ich schlafen geh'n,
Vierzehn Engeln um mich steh'n.
Zwei zu meine Rechten,
Zwei zu meine Linken.
Zwei zu meine Kopfen,
Zwei zu meine Fuessen.
Zweie um mich decken,
Zweie um mich wecken.
Zweie um mich weisen
Zu Himmels Paradeisen.

The standard libretto translation:

When at night I go to sleep,
Fourteen angels watch do keep.
Two are on my right hand;
Two are on my left hand;
Two my head are guarding;
Two my feet are guiding;
Two who warmly cover;
Two who o'er me hover;
Two to whom 'tis given
To guide my steps to Heaven.

I suggest you find a good recording and listen to it. I used to sing it to my son in both German and English when he was young.

Yes here it is

There are four corners on my bed,
There are four angels at my head.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,
Bless the bed I sleep on. Amen
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angels bless and angels keep
Angels guard me while I sleep
Bless my heart and bless my home
Bless my spirit as I roam
Guide and guard me through the night
and wake me with the morning's light.
Amen

If these arent the ones go here they have many prayers

prayers are supposed to come from the heart.

how does repeating some rhyme or memorized prayer come from the heart? it would be meaningless...

teach your kids to pray about their own feelings and thoughts...
