Why does the the church seek to disprove the Davinchi Code
if it is not true?

If the Gnostic Gospels tell of Jesus being married it would fit the time because Jesus was a jew after all.
and who was the first to see him after the reserection? MARY MAGDALENE.
Does anyone see it as odd that the Davinchi code was actually protested and that a Discovery channel program about a tomb being found in jerusalem of some relatives of Jesus was blocked by ther church from television.

If this conspiracy theroy is true, and the Catholic Church has been lying about that What else have they been lying about? Is there any truth to the rumor that during ww2, that the vatican had special spies looking for items of power like the holy grail? There are numerous stories about supposedly fictional items like the ring of Solomon, and the arc of the covenant. These items both pagan and christian are kept in vaults in places kept secret by the vatican.

Let's clear this up. The Da Vinci Code is NOT fake. It is a work of fiction.

The Church has worked hard to "disprove" it because Dan Brown based his book upon "real" conspiracy theories that some people actually hold concerning the origins of Christianity. Namely, that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married. That after the crucifixion she escaped to France, and somehow began the Merovingian blood line.

For more details see the book Holy Blood, Holy Grail or research the legends surrounding the Knights Templars.

Why is the vatican trying so hard to dispute it?

Because Catholics that do believe in the "code" may leave the church, the vatican does not want to lose members of the church.

They lose over 100,000 a year just to the Jehovah Witness Organization.

Did you know one of the Popes cousins is a "Witness"

In some country's only about 15% attend Mass, and here in the U.S.A. they are leaving the church by the thousands, so the church does not need any help from the "davinchi code"

Dan Brown did the Church a huge favor by writing that book - or more accurately God can always turn crooked lines into straight lines. Christian churches (even those separated from the Vatican) took advantage of the hoopla around The Da Vinci Code to teach people the truth and more importantly, to save souls.

If someone spread lies about you, you'd certainly dispute them, wouldn't you? Unfortunately, some people are so gullible, they'll believe anything they see or read - even when it's supposed to be fiction - and they won't bother to research it. This book was written by a man who is known to be Anti-Catholic. Right now, I guess it's ok to be anti-Christian. I guarantee, if it slammed the Jewish faith, there'd be an uproar.

Da Vinci Code is just a sick hoax

Vatican is defending a sicker hoax than the Da Vinci Code, that's why they can hardly dispute the Da Vinci Hoax.

Da Vatican Hoax ooops Da Vatican Code is worse than Da Vinci Code, but millions of people believe it to their bones

A lot of people have actually believed that story. The Vatican is just trying to set things straight.

Maybe it's because the catholic church is so far off of its ecclesiastical apostate rocker that it can no longer discern fact and fiction?

They hate anything that makes people think. Even fiction.

"Hmm -- why WASN'T Jesus married?" "Hmm-- what IF he DID mack on Mary Magdalene?" "Hmm- why DID Leonardo paint that girly-man at the last supper?"

... because the falsehoods and libels of the DaVinci Code are so easy to reveal and refute.

Maybe it is because 1/2 of Catholicism is fake. They don't want to be out faked.
