Several times I've heard people in church say that nothing, absolutely nothing, could make them believe that the Bible wasn't true or that Jesus wasn't our savior or that the Church is corrupt, etc.

Think about what such a claim means:

If you experienced some miraculous event that seemed to be of divine origin and that challenged some belief you hold dear, you still wouldn't question your belief.

Do you realize what this says about you and your belief?

OK, some people don't seem to be getting it. If you say that nothing you could cause you to renounce your religion, then you are going on record as saying that your religion is more important than the truth. You're saying that not even God Himself could talk you out of what you believe. Does that seem right to you?

I Cor 13: 8-12 ... St Paul himself said that we don't know everything yet. All the things that make our religious experience special are only expressed partially. That includes:
- Prophesy
- Speaking in tongues
- Knowledge

Nonetheless, what do we use as a guide along this misty path we tread? Our emotions are too changeable and swayed by prejudices.
At least we can see how a religious faith has helped the lives of those around us and can learn from those that seem closer to our goal than we are.
Hypocrits in different denominations (who are exceptions to the rule) should not convince us to turn our backs on God. I have seen too many petty arguements make people reject their church all for a personality conflict with a leader. - Not because they disproved a teaching or reason they joined / stayed in their church.

No I wouldn't renounce my "religion". I am not religious. Religion is man made. God intended for one way and that is through Christ Jesus. I have felt God's spirit and I am fillied with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. People don't believe because they don't want to and they have not felt God's presence.....what a wonderful feeling that is!!!! I am saved forever!!!

If we mean it, then it says that we will hold true to our faith. Now, I've changed my opinions before on religion, though I don't expect to again. I just have to be convinced that it isn't true. Of course, since I believe it is true, then I don't think anything will come along to change that.

What does it mean? It means that we're close-minded and don't want to consider an alternative faith. That would be correct. It may be in modern culture that we consider it a virtue to be so open-minded our brains fall out, but there are really things that you should stand on as true regardless of what anyone says. It isn't a virtue to be open-minded about those things no matter what the cultural pressure is. I would consider Christ one of them.

I have a personal relationship with God thru Jesus Christ,
religion has been man's version on God's way.
so would I renounce Jesus as Savior, no I would not.

and also I have seen miracles in healings at home not at faith healing meetings, God is real.

Do you realize how stupid this sounds? YOU WROTE IT.

No. Because we hold the promise Jesus gave us, and nothing or no one can take that away. All we have to do is walk by faith and not by sight. If you are correct...and God/faith is a lie--we lose nothing and still retain our faith and love in him.
If we are correct...and God does exist, that through your lack of faith, you lose--EVERYTHING: your life, your soul, your spirit, everlasting life, peace, joy. I'd rather HAVE IT, than LOSE IT.

To question is human. I do not follow blindly like most, so if I need to question my beliefs, I can and do so freely. Most people are terrified of spending an eternity in hell and so they try to rationalize all happenings so they fit in the picture of their faith. Even if it requires creative imaginings and false stories, as long as they can rationalize it, all is well.

I have received miracles of divine origin and it only intensified my beliefs and knowledge of God Almighty. And nothing could ever turn me away from the Lord, ever.

I will never renounce Christ, because He would never do anything that would be against who He is. Plain and simple. God is true to His Word, so I must be true to Him.
