I can't figure any word in Latin meaning sky and starting with ven.
Sky in Latin, according to my dictionary, is CAELUM-I

Concur, the typical Latin word for sky is caelum.

As for "ven-" the only thing that comes to mind is "ventus", "wind", which sailors (an perhaps others?) might use to refer to the sky.
