I would rather read the Apocalypse Explained or the Apocalypse Revealed.

The book of Revelations is the most symbolical and most difficult book to decipher in the entire Bible. There are many things written there that could mean an infinite number of things. Even the numbers mentioned aren't actually amounts but symbols (e.g. 7, 666, 12). If you read the numerical figures there as symbols and not as specific amounts then you will realize that the people who will be redeemed could amount to every good person in this entire world and they may not be neccessarily Christian, just good people.
Also please note that there really are evil people out there when you think about the serial killers, guiltless rapists, and those who promoted Genocide (e.g. Hitler). And some them are Christians too.

If you mean the book of Revelations, I have read it but to be honest I am not sure what it means. The gospels are lot more clear. I don't know why you think non-Christians are more ethical than Christians. We all sin against God, so in that respect we are all the same. The Christians I hang around with do a lot of work in the community on a volunteer basis, they help orphans and the poor, they raise money for unwed mothers and a bunch of other good causes. How can they be worse than unbelievers? What kind of activities do unbelievers engage in that are so much better?

What have you got against the Bible? Sounds like you have it in for God too! In the case of Revelatons, it is absolutly showing the cumulative effect of the sins of mankind.
When (if) you work for an employer you have to obey thier rules or get fired. Would you say that was unfair?
If you get caught speeding and have to pay a fine, would you say that is unfair?
If you murdered someone and were facing the death penalty for the deed, would you say it is unfair?
No. If you are honest, and practice personal responsibility, then you know that wrong actions have consequences and you would understand that your punishment is not unfair.
So it is with God. From the creation of Adam God has reached out to mankind. He gave them the Law so that they could learn to obey Him, He gave them grace, thru the death of His Son so that they could have access to the salvation that comes only from God.
He caused the Holy Bible to be written and preserved so that we can study and come to understand His will. Humanity is without excuse when it comes to thier time of punishment. They had ample opportunity to repent and learn the ways of righteousness.
And yet, we still reject Him, reject His authority over us (as you seem to). We want to go our own way, make up our own "laws " and "gods" and doctrines. All those folks that you hold up as "good" reject the only source of good. Thus their punishment is sure.
Thus, when the time of punishment comes, which is detailed in Revelations (among other places), the punishment is not unfair. God gave us warning. He has constantly shown mankind what He expects and desires from them.
The few, the very very few, who God has chosen, the "favorites" that you deride, have tried to listen to Him , to obey Him. Are you jealous that there are only a few?? Wouldn't your energies be better spent learning what God expects of you so that you might possibly be part of those few? It is not unfair for our sins to be on our own heads. We were warned.
It is true that there are many nice people in the world. So what? There are just as many if not more sob's and the end result for both is the same. It is because they refuse to live as God directs.

I'm a christian and as all christians I do believe that each chapter and verse in the bible was inspired by God.
As a christian I've struggle to understand why God does a lot of thing as a perfect God. I just resign to follow Him no matter how strange He does things because as for Hell, I don't want to go there.

Let me explain it this way. Suppose you have your house and you love your house and all the stuff inside. Then a storm comes along and smacks your house and strolls it all over the place.
You would look thru the pieces and salvage what you could but then you would have to throw the rest away
We are Gods creation... The Devil got mad at God and has attempted to destroy Gods creation by causing man to sin against God. God has made a way to salvage what he can but he has to throw the rest away
He has made it as simple as he can
Just believe in his begotten Son and thou shall be saved
those that believe not are condemned already and have to be destroyed

If it were in my power to create a companion, how would I go about it? I would want that companion to truly love me. I could force that being to worship and adore simply by programming it into my new creation. But would that be real love? I would prefer to give my new creation the capacity to love (or not) by virtue of its own free will.

If you don't believe God is who and what He says He is or that He's done the things He says He's done, it's not His fault.
Still, He is God, you are not. He does not have to explain the intricate details of what he plans to do to anyone. He has said that He will not do anything without warning us first.
Well, we've been warned.
