As a human, she died. Mary isn't mentioned much, but we can assume she died as she was just like you and me. Human. Now, part of our Bible was destroyed in the 5th century and there have been many translations. It could have discussed the death of Mary but we must rely on what we have in our Bible, faith and discernment. The last mention of Mary (Acts 1:14) was when she saw her son ascend into Heaven. She did not go with him so we must assume that she had a physical death at some point and her soul then ascended at the time of her death. At the time of Christ's death, Mary went into the home of John.

The doctrine of the Assumption says that at the end of her life on earth Mary was assumed, body and soul, into heaven, just as Enoch, Elijah, and perhaps others had been before her. It’s also necessary to keep in mind what the Assumption is not. Some people think Catholics believe Mary "ascended" into heaven. That’s not correct. Christ, by his own power, ascended into heaven. Mary was assumed or taken up into heaven by God. She didn’t do it under her own power.

I easily have not come during or examine interior the bible with regard to the demise of Mary. there is not any point out of Mary's existence and demise after the demise of Christ - Christ gave the duty of His mom, Mary, to John mutually as He became into loss of existence on the circulate. Mary maximum in all probability traveled with John even till her demise, at which era John in all probability buried her.

The stance of the Catholic church is that her entire body was Assumed into heaven (that's why books like the Da Vinci code, purporting that the bones of Mary could be found, are so controversial).

Some say she died between 5-15 years after Jesus with the disciples around her. It doesn't sound really plausible to me only because the disciples scattered in all different directions ... and they all managed to come back for her death? I dunno.

I believe in the book of John it says something about her going to live with the disciple that Jesus loved best, meaning himself. That sounds more likely.

Catholics say she was taken right into heaven. Which, of course, makes it difficult to determine what happened. Did God raise her up above the atmosphere where she suffocated from the lack of oxygen? Did he take her to some hidden location on earth where she now sits, age 2027, watching reruns of "The Golden Girls?" Was she miraculously transported to the planet Zenon?

Protestants, who depend more on the Bible, generally don't know. Speculation was that she just passed away like any other resident of Rome-governed Judea.

They didn't really say she died in the usual way. They say she was raised into heaven both body and soul.
