I am participating in Yahoo Green/Be a Better Planet. I think it's a great way to get people to pitch in by showing them exactly what impact their efforts have on the enviornment. I've always had sort of a "thing" against energy saving bulbs (I hate the light they give off). But I'm ready to make a change.

My family already does a few things to help out. We recycle glass, metal, and plastic, we keep our dish washer on energy-save, we hang most of our clothes to dry, we use an energy saving bulb in the garage and fluorescent bulbs in the basement.

I really hope that through Yahoo Green, people will see how important it is to take care of the world we live in and become excited about it as I am.

I signed up, yesterday. I have already changed many of the lightbulbs in our house to CFL. Our porch light, which burned out about every 8-10 weeks, has now had the SAME CFL bulb in it for 3 years!

I drive a hybrid (Honda Civic) and have since it first came out. We use cloth shopping bags (and I'm looking forward to my new one from Yahoo!). We recycle virtually everything we can.

We've been doing all this for years -- because my husband works for an international non-profit conservation organization and we know just how important it is for everyone to do what they can.

I always turn the lights off after I leave a room and I try to unplug the TV, Game Cube, and computer before I go to bed. Even at stand by they are still using energy.

I recycle everything that is accepted to be recycled in my area. I unplug small appliances when they aren't in use. I have changed out more than 1/2 of my lights to energy eff. one. I keep my AC on 78 and turn on the fan in each room I go in. I keep all my blinds closed to help maintain the temp in my house.

I use those lightbulbs, believe it or not, you save a lot of money every month on your energy bill.
I recycle, and encourage my friends too.
We should all try to do something, anything, to help the planet.
