Hey wassup guys

I recently just recieved my licence, im 18 years old. I need to get car insurance, and the prices are crazy under my name. My brother told me to get it under his name, but he is currently out of the country, and i need insurance. I have the car, he owns it. I need to know if there is a way i could register it under his name , as i would be getting the insurance under his and my name. Any info would be greatly appreaciated. TY

If he is the one that owns the car, he has to be the one to register it & get the insurance because he has to sign the forms. Since he is out of the country, the only way I can see he can get insurance is on the internet. I don't think he can get the registration that way. For that he may have to call the DMV & find out what he can do to have you legally register the vehicle in his name for him. If he can get the insurance in his name over the internet, you both will need probably need to be named drivers. Also, he will have to put a valid NY address for the policy & bills to be mailed to - I am assuming that would be your address - make sure he puts it in care of (c/o) your name before your address to be sure that the mail gets delivered to you.
Otherwise, he will have to sign the title over to you & you will have to register & insure it.

, Get it under his name if you want to be arrested for fraud.
This woul be a criminal matter, not a traffic and you will find it almost impossible to ever get insurance.
