I think they should have homework but this is for a english teacher who said we should convince her, the prize is not homework for the winner for a whole month.

Many students may do the homework but just how many of them will bother to do it correctly? If teachers used their time for effectively and we focused on more important principles surely homework would be a thing of the past... Homework is uttertly pointless if you dont understand the concept and just ultimatey guess.... It defeats the whole purpose....

Because having spent all day at school, 7th graders should be out with their friends learning social skills, going to sports clubs, Scouts, music clubs, talking to their family etc. ie there's a lot more to a person than just their academic knowledge and after school is the time school students should be developing other sides of themselves - not doing more of the same. Good luck convincing her!

I'm a grown adult and I think that no kid in elementary should have homework. they have to get up in the morning early to go to school. most kids have to be at school at least 6 and a half hours then the have to go home again which can take a long time for some kids riding the bus.
most homework assignments can take 30 minutes or more for each subject. if you cover 4 subjects that could take 2 hours. there's no time for a kid to be a kid. no wonder its hard for a kid to keep his grades up. been making this arguement for years to no avail. I keep trying kids
