I dont think its at an age, I think it should be when they are potty trained. They should not be going in the pool. Thankfully, the chlorine or other chemicals should kill any bacteria but still its not a good habit to allow your child to do. Once they know they go in the potty, it should happen all the time. Encourage your children to go to the bathroom before they go swimming. Remind them at least every 2 hrs to try and go. This should reduce any accidents.

How my parents scared me out of peeing in the pool: Told me that they put a special chemical in there that if you peed, it would stain your swim suit purple or some dark color. Yeah I never did it again. haha.
