I've been trying to decide what kind of car to get and want some suggestions. I want something that's sporty, classy, reliable, and safe. Also, average mpg greater than 20 would be best. I'll be trading in a 1998 BMW 528i and want a similar car. Would like to keep the price below $30,000 (after taxes and the such). I've been looking at the following:

2004ish Infiniti G35 Sedan
2004 BMW 525i
2004 Acura TL
2004 Audi A6 or A4

2004 isn't the only year I will consider, but I was just thinking about these. Any comments on these choices or suggestions of others?

if I were you, I would go to the Acura. They are reliable. Even with a used one, you will have no problems. They are very fast. 0-60mph in 5.8 quarter mile in 14.6@98

They are very good looking. They handle very well. I have had one 2001 acura 3.2CL type-s and a 2003 3.2Cl type-s manual 6 speed. I loved those cars.

If you are up to a manual, search a bit and you can find a tl 6-speed. They are worth it. You get great brembo brakes and something that it called a helical slip differential. What it does, in a curb, it will put more torque on the outside wheel, the one that has traction. This gives you a much faster exit out of the curb. It makes it the best front wheel drive car you can buy.

Someone else also said a charger. That's a good car to look for, you could buy a brand new RT for about the price you want (Or maybe you can find a very low mileage 2006 for a lot less). I have a friend who had a 2001 525, and he changed it for a charger RT (with road and track package) and he loves it at least as much.

Good luck.

Well if you want a reliable cars definitly do not get the Audi's (no matter how tempting they are they will most likely have a problem eventually). The Infiniti G35 sedan is a nice car but not nearly as sporty as the coupe, so dont be fooled. If I were you I would look into the Acura or BMW. Money-wise your best bet would probably be the Acura TL.

Their all nice cars but a sporty car is a BMW and a classy car is a BMW , Acura , and Audi. A reliable car is all the cars u want. A safe car is u to u to choose. But I drive a BMW and I love them. But I'm also in love with Acura. But u should choose the BMW if not the Acura. The one with the round back is sexy. Good luck. And I hope I helped u on ur search.

Both the infiniti and the Acura are great buys and great rides. As a sales and finance manager I have driven and sold both, however is the trade value for your BMW 528 that concerns me more. If you own the vehicle outright you need to know that particular vehicle has a great resale value here in the east coast. You can always sell the car on your own if you have the time.

Mazda 6. It is a sports sedan. One of the best handling FWD sports sedans for a midsized sedan. For comfort and sportiness, Acura TSX.

For class, go for the BMW. If you want it to start reliably every morning, go for the acura or infiniti. If you want to have a long term frustrating relationship with the local dealer's service department, buy the audi.

Were it me, I would choose the Acura. I'm a biased Honda driver with 25yrs of cars I could brag about. If none of these I have an '88 Chev pickup you can have for 28K, a better classic than the T bird. My second choice is the Infiniti.

Your Audis are not reliable (expensive to fix and breaks down often).
You should go with the G35 Sedan because it's a very sporty car --- you'll love it!

The Tl might be a bit cheaper but the G35 is an awesome car. But you cant go wrong with either of your mentioned choices.
