"There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." -John 3:1-7

I believe God is too big for one religion. I don't necessarily believe there is a heaven, but I do believe there is life after death. Whether this means we are reincarnated, or go to heaven I do not know. I just don't like to hear it when people say, " You will go to hell if you do not go to church. You will go to hell if you are not my religion. You will go to hell if..... " I don't think they have the right to make that judgment. I don't go to church, but you know, I think I'm a pretty good person. I don't think I'm great, but I do the best I can. For instance there is a war in Northern Uganda Africa going on right now. This very instance, it has been going on for 21 years, it is the longest running war in Africa. This is very unfortunate and thousands are dying each week, over 20,000 children have been abducted. This is a terrible situation, and needs to be stopped. I have told everyone I know about these children and I hope you will visit the website to find out what you can do. Many may say, " Well, these kids aren't so and so religion so they are going to hell... " This makes no sense. These kids, these adults, they've done nothing wrong. They have just as much rights if not more to have a wonderful life after death. To think that God, whoever he or she is would send thousands upon thousands of people to hell is depressing, and makes God sound like a dictator...
So basically I think there is life after death in some shape, form, or way. I think that the amount of good you did, will pay off in the end. But, I don't think it has anything to do with going to church, or how many people you converted. People should not live their lives just for a reward in the end, being good just because they want to go to heaven is not a good reason. People should want to contribute to the well being of this world just because it is the right thing to do, and it makes life easier for others that may be going through a rough time.
I hope I haven't bored you with all my writing, I guess I had A LOT to say :) Have a FABULOUS night!!!

What I or we think doesn't matter. What God thinks is what matters.
Jesus proved to the world that He was God's Messiah (the incarnation of God in flesh). Most didn't believe it. Them not believing it didn't make it not so.
He did not come to condemn mankind, He came to save mankind from it's sinful nature. (John 3:17)
He made it so easy that anybody can be saved, ANYBODY.
If a person will believe in Jesus that person will have earned eternal life. (John 3:16, Romans 10:vs 9 through vs11)
To cement that belief, it is necessary to complete the "marriage" by a public profession of faith in Him. A public Baptism is the usual way of doing this.

First of all...Heaven is a religious term... and, if you believe in Heaven you probably need to believe that there is a process to get into it. Logically that seems to be how a person should approach it. If you believe the Bible to be the Word of God, it is clear their is a path to going to Heaven. Specifically, there are passages that state you must be born again to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Born again is what is referred to as "saved".

The term heaven is a limiting factor. That's really only one theory of what happens after death. You might do well to research the subject and get a variety of points of view.
As to heaven specifically, a wise man once told me that due to overcrowding, hell has been closed, so everyone has to go to heaven. While I understood him to be joking, I wonder. Can anyone really believe that there is a god so cruel he would burn a person in hell for eternity because of an inability to repent having had a good time one Saturday night?

No. I don't believe in "sin". People themselves are not "bad"; it's the behaviors that may be unproductive and harmful. We need to own our actions, and we need to face consequences. We don't need to be "saved" from ourselves. If anything, being "saved" from ourselves gives us the excuse of pointing fingers at others and NOT owning our $h!t. We don't have to take responsibility for our human condition when we can put the responsibility on "God."

I believe you have to be saved to go to Heaven, because the Bible says so. The Bible is God-inspired and it says that to get into Heaven, you HAVE to be PERFECT. But, since we are born sinners and belong to this world, ruled by the devil, we can't be perfect. So when we turn our lives over to Jesus, God takes Jesus' sacrifice for our sins, and views us(our soul) as perfect, so we get a new perfect body when we go to Heaven.

I think it's a shame that you have to fear God's punishment in order to be saved. The only reason I could possibly accept God in this life is out of fear and guilt.

OK, I believe that everyone can be saved, whether or not they are christian. My reasoning-- some people are never exposed to the "good news", and God, being the kind lord he is, wouldn't expel them from heaven, just because they never got the chance to hear about him. That's just plain, flat-out unfair. I believe that in order to be saved, just be a good person, the best way you can be

I personally believe in niether heaven or hell. I beleive we have to make our lives here heaven to the best of our abilites while reachign out to others. I do not think one must be saved, i think one shoudl just in generl to be good and kind. Others know of my beliefs and no one has ever told me i am gong to go to hell. I think that as long as you wholeheartedly believe what it is you think and as long as you can explain it well to others, they will respect that.
