Yes it is a myth. But if it makes you feel better, or act better, it can have a purpose. The trick is how does it make you better.

Do what you feels right. if you have a strong faith in god, at least that produces love and hope for you. If you feel that you're leaning on giving relgion or god up, thats fine as well. Maybe it will give you the break you needed to sit back and strighten out your priorities. God helps those you hlep themselves. You can stop praying for a little while and focus your energy else where, and if you feel a loss or if things get worse, then you can always return to god. I wish you the best of luck and happiness.

I don't think one should pray for something that is within their ability to take care of themself. Also, right now, within one mile of you, there is a wife, or a child, or an elderly person, being abused and praying to God for help. This help will not come. I don't believe that God helps people win the ball game while suffering people are praying and no help is being sent. I believe in God, but I don't really think that He gets involved in a specific instance for specific individuals. If this is true, it must mean that all the good, bad, or evil things that takes place on this earth must not really be that important in some eternal purpose. All suffering in prayer is not equal. A women in deep distress because she prayed for her new car cannot be equal to a woman in deep disress because her child is without food. But, I believe the individual process of prayer is beneficial for a person and helps them to focus on godly things.

God hears all prayers. God answers all prayers. Sometimes the answer is "No." God suffers with us and gives us the grace, (strength) to get through the suffering. This is not to test us but to help us get through the suffering. This is not a myth. At the death camps, a Rabbi was asked why a young child had to die a slow death from hanging. "Where is God now?" asked one of the prisoners forced to watch the execution.
The rabbi answered, "God is there on the gallows."

Yes he hears our prayers

Make sure your are praying in accordance to His will and not yours. It may not be that he is not answering but that the answer is no because you ask amiss.

Remember, regardless of what you may have been taught there are conditions. Jesus asked a prayer that the Father answered no to. He asked that the cup of the torture, crucifiction and his death be removed, but he also concluded by saying to the Father Your will be done. In otherwords His fathers answer was no.

Remember that whatever we ask in Yahshua's name he will do because we love him. How do we know that we love Him? We keep his commandments and his commandments are the Fathers commandments.

Be sure your not asking for something that is truly just fullfilling your lusts.

You must also make sure you are reconciled to your brothers or sisters or God will not hear your prayer.

Also approach God in humbleness of heart always seeking his will.

All the above are scriptural but I'm trying to not make anyone crazy by quoting them.

Shalom Alechem

yes He answers prayers (I think I'm going to start a blog because this always takes way too much typing! hahaha)
Are you praying for His will to be done? If that is so, then you have to trust that he is fulfilling His plan for your life. If things are really awefull for you now, you have to ask His help in enabling you to remain strong and get you out of the situation you are in.
If it's the world in general that you are lamenting over - by all means continue to pray! Praying by believers enables the spirit realm (Angels) to spring into action according to His will.
Trust me - prayer NEVEr fails. Have faith, watch for His leading, cry to Him, rely on Him, praise Him, yell at Him, love Him....

he can take it all dear!

blessings :)

Of course he hears our prayers. And even if you don't think he's listening, he always is. Sometimes it depends on what kind of prayer you're praying. If you only pray to him when you need help, that's a selfish prayer. No matter what you thought he will always love you, even if you think you're wasting your time.

God hears all prayers but sometimes his answer is NO. In time you will look back and see why he answered you as he did.
Keep your faith and he will always be with you.
If you have ever had children I'm sure you have answered NO for their own good. Same thing with God.

Well no, he doesn't, he's just playing a chess game with people's life. So many good people and children die for the doings of others, where's GOD??? I've read the bible and people sacrificed stuff for him and they never got what they deserved or wanted, so I say look somewhere else for something real.

He is real. It's called FAITH. It may seem tough at first. If you are praying about a dumb thing like a zit or somehting then probably he won't answer your prayers about that. Keep trying. HE IS REAL.

Yes!He do,but you have to think if your prayer is acceptable to God!Jesus gave us a model prayer,
Matthew 6:9-13,he siad we Have to know the true God to sanctify His name(Jehovah).
in our prayers Gods name(Jehovah)and His will should be given proirity.

Acts 10:34,35"god the hearers of prayers is not partial but in every nation the man that fears Him(Jehovah) and work righteousness is acceptable to Him.What ever our nationality is,wherever we are God can hear our prayers as long as we Did His will and righteous in His eyes.
