Confucianism is far more a philosophy than a religion. Indeed, this is the first I have heard it called a religion at all. Six million! And you say "nation wide," not world wide! What nation? The US?

Confucius is NOT a organized belief ( religion) !!!
It is a practice of Confucius teachings that have a enormous influences in China, Korea, Vietnam ... in term of behavior, moral, politics, culture ...
No statistic is meaningful to identify a confucian (mis-nomer) - Since people practice Confucius teaching in various degree to their own belief of what is important to them. Also - they concurrently practice Buddism, Christian.. or any religion
There are no God- but Soul !!!
Typically, they have pictures of their pass-away ancestors/family (grandparent,parent,spouse,children...) on the altar at home - if they practice a religion - let say Christian - then Jesus is above these pictures
They pray (& celebrate) on the anniversary of their family members'death - or any time they wish to seek comfort, protection or guidance .. in difficult time
And this practice can extend further on larger scale (extended families, village, district, nation..) as current politic allow !!!
For example :
South Vietnamese (pre-communism 1975) has official holiday of their first recorded history King ancestor (Hung Vuong) - But now there are None under communist regime (government merge with other holiday to de-emphasize its significance!)- But the exile Vietnameses continue celebrate that 'holyday' around the world
...
Cheers

Confucius is its major teacher, but it does not have gods/goddesses/prophets. The supernatural plays a relatively minor role in Confucianism- the focus is on tradition and moral character.

There are no holy days, major gods/goddesses, or prophets because Confucianism isn't a religion it's a philosophy.

I just use the Revival Fire questions to throw the same crap they throw at us on Camp Fire Friday. Cut and past from the Book of the Dead, tell them Osiris loves them, try to convert them to paganism...etc. Give me that Old Time religion!!!

Am I wrong, or does Confusism (sp?) have no gods? Isn't it based solely on Confucious' (sp?) teaching?
***BAD JOKE ALERT***
