I am a Christian, baptized at age 14. I have studied many other religions and facets of them are like the offshoots of fire from diamonds. It makes me wonder if these other practices took some of their root from God. For example, the American Indians have their Gods. But they had their Gods before Western Man came to convert. God had to have been looking over them. They were his creation, too, and Ijust don't believe he let the devil have them to instill paganism in them. The Bible doesn't say animals have spirits but I believe they do. We have had our Bible translated much; additionally, some of it was destroyed in the 5th century by the Catholics. What did we miss? Any of this? Possible. God loves all creatures and he created everything; they key thing is Christ, faith, hope and LOVE. I don't see any reason to not incorporate SOME positive ideals from other religions into our Christian lives. For example, I burn Catholic candles and ask for blessings. I pray and then light them. "Let there be light". Right? Some things are beautiful and we've had some fantastic philosophers including Buddha. I don't worship Buddha but I darn sure respect the peacekeeper.

Yes. I'm a Catholic, but feel attracted to certain ideas in Judaism, Hinduism, Wicca, Asatru, Eckankar, animism, and many other beliefs. Within Christianity, I'm attracted to the Episcopal Church, Unity, the Swedenborgian Church (Church of the New Jerusalem), Orthodoxy, the Rosicrucian Fellowship, and others. Whereas I might not agree with all these groups as a whole, I feel that they have wisdom to share with the world.

i think of that could be a possibility. I think of there is a few convenience for the sick guy or woman and his or her family members understanding that others are praying for their restoration. additionally, who's conscious, in case you have the religion you will recuperate, perhaps it is 0.5 the conflict. i don't basically like the Benny Hinn style of religion therapeutic simply by fact they make it right into a convention. They practice off and if i'm remembering wisely, Christ stated that substitute into not kosher. i might never forgo scientific remedies in desire of religion therapeutic. i might use the two at the same time.

Yes. I get much more meaning from Buddhism than the Catholic religion that I was raised under. Buddhism makes sense to me, whereas going to hell for not believing in Jesus is crazy..I mean what about Aborigines that never heard of Jesus? Are they damned to heck forever for no reason? I loving God wouldn't do that sort of thing...right? Geez, I hope not.
We should be secure in the idea that we humans really don't know much.

I used to have this attraction. But the more I learn about God, and the closer I grow to Him, the more I understand the danger of practicing other beliefs and religions. Although recently, I have wondered if it's possible for Christians to practice the movements of yoga, without following the Eastern religious beliefs.
Although, I think it is possible, as many Christians are doing just that, it's not worth the risk of doing so. Anything that could possibly draw me away from God's love and protection, I don't want any part of. The devil is waiting for any chance and opportunity to pounce upon a Christian, and I don't intend to play games with him. I'll give Pilates and daily stretcing a try. lol

I've always been fascinated by Greek and Egyptian mythology. Even as a child, I was always reading about Athene and Anubis and the other gods and goddesses. Didn't change my Christian beliefs, but I still loved them as personifications or symbols.
At heart, I guess I belong to the First Church of C.S. Lewis. Nobody could combine characters from other belief systems and still be within Christian parameters as well as he did, IMHO.

I'm an atheist, but I feel the same way about many different religions. Wicca has appealed to me on several levels, even if I'd never be able to fully believe in it, and so has certain things from Christianity, Buddhism, and so on.
I usually take what appeals to me from certain religions, forming my own pseudo-religion, in a way. It's hard to describe to people in a way that makes them understand my viewpoints, but I am content with who I am.

I will admit that I have felt attracted to some elements of other faiths. When reading about other religions, I reeaally have to guard myself because they sometimes seem so "pretty" and exotic.
That's why I don't watch Hayao Mizayaki's films. Though I love the style of anime, I don't want to find myself getting caught up in the theology it advertises.

I do. And I generally follow through on those attractions. I have attended the religious services of Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, Buddhists, Taoists, Hindus, and Neo-pagans, and I have no intention of slowing down any time soon.

Until I found the Truth... of the Almighty... and had this "not too sure mentality!!! Yes, always! as I kept searching! but there simply is no need anymore! Just as the apostle Peter responded to Jesus "But where else can I go now??? (that I know you and your truth???)"
How do I know? Not a shred of a doubt in my mind and I can defend this "faith", absolute faith! to anyone any time! with my own life!!! as death itself has no hold on me for the promise of the resurrection in a perfect body and earth, paradise earth, is just fine by me... and I beleive it with all of my heart... It seems that I instinctively knew it as a young, young child... but that the system and the empire of false religion did its best to get me away from this common sense which belongs to innocent children of God... (as I just know looking back, that He already knew that I would love Him in spite of anything forever... and Satan tried to get me away from Him and almost succeeded a couple of times... which is why I hang on to Him for dear life now... and would absolutely rather die than forget that!!! Now that I've taste how futile life was without the privilege of his active force of holy spirit in it... I'd be no better than a dog returning to his vomit if I was to ever return to a life without my heavenly Father in it! and amen! in the name of His son Christ Jesus, is how I pray incessantly... even as I write you all here! I have Him upper-most on my mind!!! and do my utmost to never forget but cultivate every fruitage of His spirit as quoted in Galatians 5: 21, 22... I wish and pray for nothing less for you! and all who truly seek to please the true God!!!
